Title: how long did it take you to grow from APL to waist Post by Joanna on Feb 18th, 2008 at 5:54pm
im really getting fed up with my hair at the moment and wish it would grow, its stalled at the moment which doesn't help.
I have 16 months roughly to get to waist :( but i would really appreciate it if those lucky people who have got to waist could give me some encouragement, also please add how often/how much you trimmed. TIA x |

Hang in there! It is not uncommon for hair to have a resting period when it seems to not grow at all (I'm in one myself right now :( ).
Before my hair got to waist length, I probably had my hubby trim it twice a year - about an inch each time. Now that it is at classic length, I trim it about once a year, but trim 2 - 3 inches. That pretty much keeps me at the same length. |

thats really encouraging, seems this time of year is a staling period for quite a few people, hopefully it will re-start again soon.
Ive never really took much notice of the different yearly cycles of my hair. thanks for your encouragement xxx |

The first time I grew to waist length, I think it took about 2-3 years. And my trims were pretty sporadic. I had lots of split ends, tons of damage. :P
When I cut it all off, I vowed to take better care of it the next time around. So now, I focus more on the quality of the hair that I have rather than the length. The length will take care of itself in time, but healthy hair can't maintain itself! ;) For the next 2 years, I'm holding steady at BSL and just growing out damage from years past. So far, it's taken 8 years to grow 20" but I used to get trims every 3 months. It certainly tries my patience, but there's no point in having long hair if it's not healthy. |
