Title: London trip Post by Drear on May 28th, 2008 at 9:30am
I'm a bit annoyed that I'm not excited about going to London on Friday. I've never been to London or the UK at all and it's been a dream for years so I know I should be jumping with joy. It's the circumstances I'm not excited about; Hub's company, arriving after 10pm Friday with nothing to do and they're not even making sure there's drinks or food for us the first evening :o. We only get Saturday morning to ourselves. Saturday is going to be spent on a tour boat on the Thames and Saturday evening we're couped up in the hotel for a dinner, Sunday we fly home. So I don't actually get to see London at all :(
I don't know if there'll be a chance to do any shopping which is what I'm mostly upset about. I mean, knowing I'm in this huge city (by Danish standards it certainly is) and a shopping mekka at that too I've been told by regular London visitors and people who live in the UK, and not being able to do much if any shopping myself is just pure torture! >:( Oh, and it's supposed to be under 20C and rainy the whole time While Denmark will be baking in sunny weather ::). The shoes I ordered online to wear in London that were nice and comfortable haven't arrived yet either. I fantasize about jumping off that tour boat at the first given chance to set foot on dry land and do a spot of shopping on my own ;) |

I hear your pain. I've done business trips to wonderful places and not had a minute to myself.

I ordered those shoes ten days ago. I've only now discovered that they cancelled my order the day after without letting me know >:( So of course I've written to them, attaching the original order, to ask why my order was cancelled but it doesn't change the fact that I don't have shoes that are comfortable to walk in and appropriate for business ::)
I have walking shoes but they're an embarrasment for so many reasons! :-[ |
