Title: July 2008
Post by Angel Spun on Jul 1st, 2008 at 9:16pm
Welcome, tout le monde, to the 2nd half of the year.  :)

I'm at 25˝" this month. How 'bout the lot of you?

Well, C measured my hair when it was almost dry at 36 1/2.  So since I didn't trim and I measure my hair wet; I figure that I'm either at 37 or 37 1/2.  I'll have to re- measure the next time I wash.

23".  I think my scalp massages w/oil an hour before washing is working!!!

I always measure dry since no one sees it wet.

I'm at 20" which is...
Oh--exactly the same as last month.   :(  Something's not right, then, because I can literally see a difference in my length when I look in the mirror.  Maybe hubby measured wrong.  Ah well.   ::)

Nice numbers, ladies. Let's keep it growing.  :)

Trish & Lisa: Don't get discouraged. It will grow again.

Sakina: You go, girl! I remember being pretty psyched at 23" too. Just 1 more inch and you'll have 2 full feet of pretty blonde curls.

June - 15 1/4"
June 21st - trim
July - 15"

It felt like she trimmed quite a bit off while the scissor was going through my hair but I could hardly tell she'd cut anything off afterwards :)  I like hairdressers who listen and respect ones wishes 8-)

For now, I'm happy with the layers she cut at the bottom to take away some bad parts without having to lose too much of the overall length.  The layers only reach up to where my graduation starts so if I really get fed up with it, I can lose wthat bottom part without too much sacrifice.  Right now I like how it looks and moves.

I am still at 24". My ends are very uneven. I think next month I will get a trim to even them up. I may lose a couple of inches but I'd rather have healthy ends than length with uneven split ends.

Thanks, Angel Spun.  I hadn't thought of it that way-reaching 2 feet.  I've been so focused on if it reaches the top of my bra strap!  Its getting so close I'm considering not getting my regular trim until after Halloween.  I'll be one curly long haired 1/2 dead pirate queen!!  Arrrr!

I finally self-measured this morning.

24 3/4"

Which means since May 14th, it's only grown 3/4 of an inch.

:'(

So not what I wanted to see.

please remind me-how do i measure again? is it from the front of my scalp down to the longest pieces of hair, or is it just from top to bottom of the longest pieces? i come out with two different numbers depending on whether i measure from the front or back of my head.

Start at your hairline in front, go over the top of your head, then down the length to the longest hair.  (This gives many women an advantage over men who have receeding hairlines!  ;D

27"  -  trimmed about 1" this morning

Being short this is just at waist length for me.

Classified as: 1a/F/ii(3”)

1a - stick straight
F - Fine
ii - normal (between 2-4 inches or 5-10 centimeters)

Enna, may I ask how short you are?  I'm 4'10"ft or 147cm.  I have a short neck and I'm short waisted so I'm hoping it won't take too many years from 15" it is now to reach waist length.  I keep going back and forth on which final length I want though.

5'2" if I stand up really, really straight.  ;)

I'm only at 13 1/4 inches.  :'(
Oh but my hair is really wavy/flippy at the ends so it only looks like 11 inches.

super unfair. My hair barely hits the top of my shoulder blades and in front it's just past my collar bones.

Any suggestions?I'm hoping by August 20th(school starts back)I'll be at 14 maybe 14 1/4 inches.

is it possible?*looks naive and hopeful*

I joined this group to maybe one day say I have 28 in.One day.

Hello!
Hair usually gorws about 1/2 inch a month.  Don't dispare,1/2 inch of healthy growth is better than 3 inches of damage and split ends.
Just take good care of it and your hair will be your shining glory!!!

Thanks. :)
I figure actually if I keep going the way I am(and don't cut it on a whim)I should reach about 16 inches in maybe 6 months(december pretty much)So this actually made me feel a lot better.
How often should I be trimming it?And how much?

Wow completely disregard what I said before.I actually measured way wrong...my hair is 15 inches at the longest length!

so maybe in like 2 months I'll be at 16.

Hee hee, I'm 5'3" if I stand up really straight  :D

As of July 2nd I'm at 26" it was the same for June but I hadn't measured for a while before then so... it was 28" at one point so no worries yet.  8-)

Ok here goes.  I am changing my classification.  Due to great care and trimming, my hair has gone thru a change for the better.  It is now wavy not curly.  The curls came about I think cuz my hair was sooo dry.  Now after better care and oilings it has changed.  So, for the new stats   2b/2c/C/iiii.  Hair is also getting thicker.  Been trimming ends and doing S&D's on reglar basis.

I will measure and update stats on October 1 or thereabouts.
