Title: Static in the hair

My fine hair is very prone to static, especially during the winter. I use jojoba oil on it regularly to help tame the static. I have even used dryer sheets at times to calm the static. I use an anti-static detangling comb and brush by scunci and have a hand cut wooden comb that I use during the day. Would a hand cut bone comb be better than the wooden comb? Any other suggestions for taming the ultimate flyaways?

I have tried the dryer sheets too! ;D

yep, got that too! I run a humidifier in the main part of the house, the bedroom and on the furnace! I've even started avoiding my favorite winter fabric - polar fleece! [It is getting to -15 F tonight, I may have to give in and put the polar fleece blanket back on the bed! >:( ]

You can try putting a little jojoba oil in your hair.

You all are too much...I was just thinking about this very problem this morning as I was trying to tame the troll hair. With my length hair that makes quite a troll. I used a damp brush to smooth out my hair until I could get it into a braid. I have tried the dryer sheets, static free spray on my brush, you name it and nothing works for very long...if any one has a solution please pass it on.

I would have to say the jojoba oil is the most effective.

I must have somehow missed this topic,since it´s spring now 8),here is what helps me during wintertime(and my fine hair IS prone to static):Oils(oilve,jojoba or else) don´t help at all,instead I do a deep conditioning treatment every time I wash my hair,with either horse-marrow conditioner by Beyvers or Biolage conditionig balm.I try to wash less frequently and never go out with wet hair.By doing this I had almost no static at all this last winter-while in the years before I had it all the time.

I did find that when I did a deep conditioning, the static was less bothersome. Now I am just hoping for winter to be over.......snow storm predicted for the next few days, blech!

I don't get static much, but I did get it once or twice in the winter, and I put pantyhose over my hair while I slept. In the morning all the static was gone! ;D
