Title: Combs

I have a wonderful hand-cut wooden comb that glides through my hair.  Do any of you have a favorite comb that does not break your hair?

I have a Mebco comb that I just *love*.  I keep meaning to try get some to offer from the boutique, but I just haven't had time.  It's got really wide teeth and every one is bowed, each consecutive one in the opposite direction.  I finally found what I consider to be the perfect comb!

My comb is a very old one, it's black and has long teeth. It's wide-toothed and very helpful for smoothing down wet hair.

Iīve got a Madora detangling comb(purse size),wide-toothed and very smooth. My absolute favourite for detangling my hair after washing it.When itīs dry I NEVER use any comb, only my two favourite brushes from Mason Pearson and Denman.

I almost never brush my hair as brushing causes splits and flyaways with my fine hair.  What kind of brush do you use?  What is your hair type?  I find it interesting that different types of hair respond so differently to combs and brushes.

As for me,Iīve also got fine hair(lots of it but baby-fine),and I canīt use any kind of comb on dry hair-just rips through it and causes tons of splits. :P I have been using -for the last seven years or so-only my two favourite brushes by Mason Pearson and Denman. Both are boar bristle/nylon mix and are ideal for my hair, very gentle ,no splits or static!

I use both a comb and a brush on my hair. I comb my hair when it's wet and sometimes when the waves are very pronounced so as not to straighten them. I do use a brush most of the time though, as it works well on my thick hair.

I have heard others recommend Mason Pearson and Denman brushes, they must be very nice.  I have a boar bristle brush, but it seems to cause more tangles so I quit using it.  My comb, on the other hand, is a wide toothed wooden comb that has no rough edges and glides through my hair.  No static, no splits.

Yes,youīre right,PURE boar bristle didnīt work for me also(tons of splits).Itīs the boar bristle/nylon mix which is great for my hair.

I've never used a boar bristle - it's not really available here - the one I use has metal teeth with little circles on the end (which I think tears the hair?) but it doesn't really harm my hair.
