I actually noticed that it took me nearly three years  :o growing my hair from short (shorter than chin length) to great  ;D (waistlength).
Now there are missing 8 inches to waistlength and it will take so much time  :-[ !

It has taken my the better part of 20 years (give or take) to get my hair to its current length of just above my knees.  It grows in stages it will get to a length an plateau for a while and then it will grow 8 o 10 inches in about 6 months...

When I started growing out my hair it was in a million layers and was about chin length.  It took about 2 years to just grow all of the layers out.

I had a very short pixie cut 10 years ago.  I gradually grew it out, got it all to one length at about the chin.  I trimmed regularly (maybe too often) until it was almost BSL.  That was when I decided I wanted to see how long I could grow it.  It is now waist length and due for a small trim.

When I a few months old, they shaved my head, and when I started growing it out I had a beautiful mass of curls. Since my mother's hair is dead dead straight, she loved my curls and let them grow and grow and grow... and I wasn't conscious of my hair because she used to do it for me or I would just tie it up all the time. At about 9, I had hair that was classic length, but the ends were getting really dry so we cut it to hip length. I got regular trims until I was about 13, when I cut it, and kept cutting it  :'( wanting more "style" in my look. When it was shoulder length I realised that it was beautiful and so unique when it was so long, and so much easier to care for! So I began growing it again, and now it's about BSL. My growth rate *seems* to be 1 inch a month, judging by the length of my bangs, but for some reason they are growing faster than the rest of my hair  :-/. Which doesn't seem to be growing at all!! I guess it might take me a long, long time for all of it to grow...

the last time i had a major haircut was 1998 (i think) my hair was cut from a few inches below my shoulders to sitting on my shoulders. then i just stopped cutting it (only the occasional trims) and 6years later its hip length!  ;D
