Title: Prom Updo's
Post by Billabongprincess on Apr 16th, 2003 at 3:58pm
Hello,
I'm attending promon May 3rd. I have a hair appointment on the 3rd, but i'm not sure what hairstyle I want. I need to find a few websites with pictures, and I'm not having any luck. My hair is straight and it comes to my shoulders and I would like an updo. Thanks for your help! ;D

If you can't find any sites with pictures that you like, there is a second option. I always take my dress to my hairstylist and she plays around with my hair. It might be wise to show her the dress anyway even if you do find a picture because a lot of pretty hairstyles don't match the dress.

Here are a few sites you can visit to look at possible hair styles:
http://www.hairboutique.com/tips/tip1249.htm
http://www.dressytresses.com/hair-styles/default.asp
http://www.hairarchives.com/private/archive/wedding/wedsketc.htm

I hope you find something you like.  Have fun at  your prom.

Since you've found the LongLocks Salon, you've probably already seen these, but just incase:

Susan;
I did not mean to exclude this site  :-[ - I guess I was assuming they would already have found the pretty styles shown here.  Glad you put the link here to make it easy to find.

No problem!  I often make the same assumption myself, but it's been recently pointed out to me that I probably shouldn't do that ;)

You are so right - we should not make assumptions.   ;D

My prom is on May 16th. I went to the hairdresser yesterday for a "trial" - basically to see whether or not they were able to come up with something I liked. It was a disaster! They teased my hair all over, blow dried my chin length bangs, and used so much gel and hairspray! When I came home I opened up the updo but I couldn't run a brush through my hair! I was so freaked out, I ran into the shower and left in deep conditioner for about 11 hours  :P! Finally it's ok... but since I now have to do my own hair for my prom I thought I'd ask for some ideas. My dress requires all of my hair to be in an updo. I might just experiment and pin up a few random pieces at a time and make the front look nice, but does anyone else have any ideas?

P.S. I looked through Patrick Cameron's two books and I actually don't like his updos very much! They're not as great as everyone seems to think they are!

Leia;
Here is another site that has photos of hairstyles, most of them with directions on how to do them (some even with step by step pictures).

Good luck with your hairstyle and hope you have lots of fun at your prom.

Thanks a lot for the site url - I like to look at ideas for updos and then create my own variations of them. I will try to post a picture of my finished hair do after the prom  :)
