Title: November 2003 Measurements
Post by leia on Oct 31st, 2003 at 11:12am
Measuring in with 28" this month. 3/4" growth. Better than my 1/4" from last month! Not my usual 1" but I think I'm slowing down due to the cooler weather and the fact that hair just naturally slows down as it gets longer.

How are all of you doing?  :)

Leia,  shame on you, you measured early!  ;D

Glad to hear you were able to detect some growth this month.  Yes, the cooler winter months do seem to slow things down.  I believe my hair is in a resting phase, so that combined with the cooler temps, I would not expect any new growth for myself.  Plus I am shedding like crazy!  Hopefully I will still have hair by spring time.

It seems to be shedding season for me too! LOL Bikerbraid, your hair is so beautiful and THICK, I'm sure you'll have LOTS left in springtime, LOL!

I was *going* to try not measuring till January... but I couldn't do it   ;D! I like to see what rate my hair grows and which months it slows down so I know if a change in my routine has affected my growth!

Does this mean the biotin and silica aren't working for you anymore?

I ran out of my biotin and silica, I hope my "shipment" shows up soon.  Plus, I think I always shed more in the fall.  Of all the times to procrastinate.......grrrrrrr.

Hey everyone. I'm new to this site and I love it. I'm attempting to grow my hair as long as possible. My current measurements are 11-1/2 inches. Wish me luck!!

DonŽt worry, this will pass :) :)I have had times of no-growth too, sort of a resting phase!(Sometimes combined with increased shedding :P )But after 1-2 months I was always back to my normal half an inch per month!

Thank you Anne- Marie  :-[ Hope youŽll be right. Maybe it is caused by fall, my hair seems to grow better at spring and summer.

I just started a biotine and zinc treatment for the next four weeks. Maybe it works!

Hi Bikerbraid. Well my hair is naturally wavy/curly and moderately thick. I'm mixed so I often have difficulty finding people that can handle my hair, and I also have to buy lots of products. However, I have found the perfect salon in CT., but it’s a little costly for me since I’m in college.
When I blow dry straight I use biosilk products (it literally makes my hair feel like silk); when wet I use vital care gel with jojoba oil. I really hate wearing my hair wet because its almost half my hair length straight.

My November measurement is 31 inches. My sons measures 32.5 inches. I am actually thinkin of cutting some of my length. I miss the movement and managability of it  about 6 inches shorter.

Jenna;
I fully understand how you feel.  I would suggest that before you do a significant cut, you try out some new hairstyles and see if that helps how you feel.  I have found that as my hair gets longer, I need to adjust how I style it.  Once I master the new styles, I find I like the new length and no longer have those feelings of "cut it off!".  But if you still feel you need to shorten the length to be happy, go ahead and do it.  What is the point of having long hair if you don't enjoy it.

My November measurement is 42,5 inches, but IŽll trim about half an inch today, since my ends are still a bit uneven. :P

How often do you trim your hair, Anne-Marie?

I used to do micro-trims every 2-3 months(just a few milimeters every time)-but my hair has been very dry after a recent holiday.I also had quite a number of splits,so I have been trimming approx. half an inch per month for the last 3 months. But my ends are back to normal now (42 inches now),so I think IŽll let it grow again ! :D :D

I have had a change of heart. I have been really struggling with the hair cutting plan. I sometimes go through a phase of wanting to be more trendy(hairstyle wise) and I just haven't been feeling very "attractive"lately. This past week was brutal. I have really bad bursitis in my left shoulder which makes it very difficult to do anything with my hair. So i have just been washing it(one handed, no easy feat) and wearing it down a bit more. I can manage a brush out and a half baked jaw clip attempt at the base of my skull area and have gotten several compliments on my hair. So, I would say Biker Braids words of wisdom fit the bill for me. Just a couple little changes and all my hair is intact. Maybe Santa will bring my some new hair accessories(hee hee). Thanks for your continued support.

I absolutely know how you felt. One time a year I rush to the stylist and want to change my look. I usually tell her: "I want to look different and stylish, but I donŽt want another color and you will absolutely not cut my hair" That is not really possible  ;D ;)
