Title: The Most Hair Impaired Woman Contest
Post by bikerbraid on Mar 19th, 2004 at 9:20pm
The Most Hair Impaired Woman Contest

In addition to announcing the 23 Most Hair Impaired Cities, Infusium 23 is taking its mission one step further by searching for the Most Hair Impaired Woman in America to repair her severely damaged hair. This contest is an opportunity for women to share the problems they have had with their damaged, unmanageable hair, and for Infusium 23 to transform their hair into smooth, soft, healthy hair. Each woman who enters the contest is invited to submit a response, in 50 words or less, to why she is the woman most in need of hair repair along with a photo that illustrates the extent of her hair damage. Final judging will be administered by a panel including "American Idol" stylist Dean Banowetz, trichologist Dr. David H. Kingsley and Procter & Gamble Principal Scientist Cheri McMaster.

The contestant deemed "Most Hair Impaired Woman" will receive a grand prize including an all-expense paid trip for two to attend a star-studded concert or event, a superstar makeover by "American Idol" stylist Dean Banowetz and a year's supply of Infusium 23 haircare products. The contest begins on March 19, 2004 and deadline for entries is May 31, 2004. Full contest details and information can be found at www.infusium.com.

The Most Hair Impaired Cities Index

The Most Hair Impaired Cities were identified by creating an index that combined consumer habits and practices with environmental data specific to each city. Consumer habits and practices were found via a P&G Beauty Care consumer survey that produced 37 million responses, which were then tabulated to determine a value for each city. The preliminary scores for the cities were then weighted equally against quantitative data, measuring environmental conditions including UV levels, relative humidity, precipitation, pollution and population; these two scores were then combined, producing the overall "damage index" ranking each city.

The Infusium 23 Legacy

While Infusium 23 has experienced many years of steady evolution of products, formulations and packaging, one thing has remained unchanged: the Infusium 23 brand's commitment to solving hair problems. Infusium 23, initially introduced to California beauty salons, was best known for its unique Leave-in Treatments, designed to restore hair damaged from chemical processing and hairstyling. In 1973, the Infusium 23 brand's reputation was so strong among salon stylists and their clients that the line was formally introduced to the professional salon industry nationwide. Infusium 23 was introduced nationally to retail outlets in 1986, and has grown due to superior product formulations and an expanded line of products. Procter & Gamble continues to leverage its superior R&D and consumer research capabilities to make Infusium 23 an even more powerful brand.

Glad to see MY city isn't listed!

FYI, the last time I looked at some of the Infusium products, they did have silicone type ingrediants.  For some hair types, this is not a problem, but for my hair, it coats it a bit too much.  If you are interested, their web site (www.infusium.com) has a sign up for free samples.

This is why I stopped using Infusium, too much silicones for about two years early on when I was beginning to grow my hair long.  It made my hair brittle.

I do wonder, though, what were Infusium 1-22? ;)

They were probably used as bathtub caulk, road patch, floor wax, and furniture polish.  8)
