Title: braids
Post by ponytail593 on May 6th, 2004 at 6:30pm
I'm trying to figure out how what the best way is to braid my mid-back length hair.  I know how to do a french braid, but my fine hair seems to always come out and look messy.  Any suggestions?

Also, I've seen drawings here of putting a hairstick in a braid - does it really stay there without sliding through?

a normal braid could be your best option...if it gets a bit messy it wont take long to redo  :)

I wear hairsticks in my braids all the time.  If you weave them trhough the braid they don't move much :)

I wear my hair in a braided bun 99% of the time-I weave one hairstick only through the bun-and it doesn't move at all during the day .  It's very secure :)

Do you put your hair in a ponytail first, then braid your hair?  Or do you just start braiding your hair?

Most of the times I just start braiding, starting the braid fairly high on my head, and tie it off with a mini scrunchie.
But sometimes, when my hair feels very slippery,I tie the pony tail off at the nape first.
