Title: Nicky Clarke Intensive treatment
Post by Anne-Marie on Jun 12th, 2004 at 12:49pm
Well, the full name is ' Nicky Clarke Hairomatherapy 60 second intensive treatment '
Luckily I bought only a sample packet of this, because it's one of the most awful conditioners I ever tried!
Left my hair greasy and frizzy at the same time, and it took several days to get my hair back to normal again.
I tried this because there are no silicones, but this is not an option for my fine, slightly dry hair!  :P

Ingredients:Water,Stearyl Alcohol,Cocamide MEA,Steartrimonium Chloride,Fragrance,Panthenol,Citric Acid,Glycerin,Isopropyl Alcohol,Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein

That sounds horrible. Your hair is so beautiful in the pictures that you posted.

Sample packs are great for finding out what works and what doesn't.  I'm curious - do you use any other products with protein?  Sometimes protein overload will cause hair to become either very brittle/crunchy or greasy.  A vinegar rinse usually takes care of the problem if that is the case.

Now that you mention it...I had been using the Giovanni Smooth as silk Conditioner a few times before-and it lists vegetable protein as part of the ingredients.

Unfortunately vinegar rinses don't work for me,I always end up with very dry & tangly hair :P
Or maybe I'm using it the wrong way  ???  I put approx. one spoonful of apple cider vinegar in one litre of water.

That ratio of vinegar to water should be fine.  Do you condition after the vinegar rinse?

No,I used it as a final rinse, just some more clear water afterwards.
Is it better to use a conditioner after the vinegar rinse?

Hi Anne-Marie,

I would use whatever routine works best for you. I know many people conditioner after the vinegar rinse, but I do it the other way around (my hair loves it). Try conditioning after the vinegar next time, and see if it makes a difference.

Good luck!

/Kate

Thanks :) I'll give it a try on my next washing-day (most likely on Thursday) and I'll let you all know how it turned out :)
