Do we eat more spicy foods, as a group, than other people?

What's your favorite food/foods?

Do you favor simple "meat and potatoes" kinds of foods or do you prefer spaghetti, pizza, chili, tacos, eggrolls or something else, perhaps?

I personally absolutely LOVE spicy food and cant get enough of it. The Irish diet on it's own can be a bit bland (although somedays you can't beat good ol' Beef in Guinness, Potatoes and homemade soda bread!!)

There are a lot of lovely Chinese take-aways and Curry shops around the place though. I'm a Chinese food fiend.

And as I love to cook, I tend to always buy my ethnic ingredients from the Asia Market in town. They've got brilliantly fresh hot chile's, etc.

So...to make my long story short...
YES!! THIS redhead LOVES spicy food!  ;D ;D

I absolutely ADORE spicy foods... though I'm not much into curry..  :P

I am a Tex-Mex NUT!  And there are several chinese places in town that know me when I come in.. I like my dishes spicy!  *laughs*  I think it may be part of the whole "redheaded attidute" thing....

Funny, I'm sitting here eating lunch while reading through the posts, dousing my sandwich with tabasco sauce!  I'm a brunette, but I am definetly a pepper head-no pepper too hot!  My favorite "heat sources" are fresh habanero peppers (we keep a fresh supply year round with an indoor plant), Dave's Insanity Sauces, and of course, the good ol' standby-Tabasco sauce.  Usually with each meal, my husband and I will each cut up a habanero to eat along with our food, our families think that we're crazy!  Even when we go out to eat, we will "smuggle" in a pepper or two to eat with our dish!  Sometimes we will even throw a few drops of hot sauce into a glass of beer with a dash of black pepper  - yeah, wierd, I know.  As for my fav food - PIZZA, PIZZA, PIZZA!!!  I think I could eat it every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of it...seriously.   Of course, I don't eat it every day, I do have some restraint you know!  I'm a vegetarian, I love fresh veggies- OLIVES, oh my god, olives...llllooovvveee olives!!!!  This is a bad time of the month for me to be talking about food, I think I love everything right now!  But I go crazy over good black or green olives, hated them as a child, but adore them now- strange how your taste changes as you grow.  Finally, mashes potatoes, could eat those for miles too.  My mother says that when she was pregnant with me that she used to crave mashed potatoes, and she would make big bowls of them and hide them from my father so she could eat them all!  I find that so funny, I could just picture her pregnant...harboring mashed potatoes!!!  God only knows where she hid them!  OK, that's about it...I think  :P

Strawberryfine, you crack me up too with your questionnaires :-) And I ADORE spicy food! I used to eat Triscuits (coarse wheat crackers) with habañero sauce as my after-school snack when I was a kid! I put chiles on everything, and I'm a nut for fiery Asian cuisine, especially Indian.

They just opened an Indian restaurant here (it's about time, the last one closed a couple of years ago) and my bf and I ate there tonight to celebrate my new job. It was heavenly to finally have someone else to cook my vindaloo!  8)

Maggie, that's hilarious! You're giving me ideas!!!  ;D ;) I've been eating loads of mash since being preggers. In fact I made some last night with garlic and parmasean mixed in it. Mmmmm.......potatoes...........

And olives, black or green or some of each!  I love Tobasco. And pizza! Oh!

I have a recipe somewhere for a spicy chicken spaghetti casserole.
It uses pre-cooked spaghetti, cooked chicken breasts, cubed, TOBASCO sauce, black olives, mushrooms, a can of cream of mushroom (or chicken) soup and a can of drained tomatoes.

You layer it in a casserole dish, top with a couple of inches of shredded cheese (I like sharp cheddar, use your favorite) and bake in a 300 degree oven for 30-45 minutes, 'til heated through.
