Title: polishing bone
Post by styg on Nov 11th, 2004 at 11:19am
ok i know, it's an incredibly weird question but i have these hair sticks (from dressy tresses, the first i ever ordered) and the carved pattern along the stick catches my hair ... it's a pattern frequently used, also on the ones sold in here (which is a pitty cuze i saw tons that i liked but i don't dare to order them anymore). it's the spiral pattern where extra incisions are made across. would metal polish it sufficiently fast? (cuze my nail polisher definitely failed  ::) )

i am not sure i am asking it in the good forum but i am sure at least one professional bone carves hangs around in here  ;D

I have several bone hairsticks from LongLocks and do not have any trouble with roughness due to to carving or cuts in the bone.  I know that Susan puts many, many layers of enamel on the bone, which will round out the edges.

aaaah, so normally i shouldn't cast out those ones with patters  :D
no, the ones i have look like naked bone. i have one as well that's purely a spiral and very smooth.

i didn't find any enamel so i put a varnish with sandarac resin on it ... seems to work  ;D
