Title: Do you Have Freckles?
Post by strawberryfine on Dec 21st, 2004 at 12:15am
This question is really for everyone.

Do you have freckles?  If so, do you like them?  Do you cover them with makeup or let them show?

Have you always liked them? ???

I have to say I've always liked my freckles, except maybe in High School.  I let them show even when wearing make-up which is not often.  I moisten a cotton ball or tissue and rub the base off over my nose, in my freckle-zone.

If you don't have freckles, do you love your creamy skin?  Because that is gorgeous, too.

I had more freckles as a kid - I loved them and wish I still had them.  Mine would be more noticable in the summer when freckling would be enhanced with the summer sun!

I seldom wore makeup (still don't), so covering the freckles was not even considered.

I've always had freckles, the kind that get darker with sun exposure, unlike my mother and sister's, which don't tan up. Because of this I've avoided the sun all my life, which has been a blessing (in retrospect), as it kept my facial skin young.

I disliked them, but I've never tried to cover them with makeup. They've faded a little over the years.

Creamy skin...wouldn't that be cool?

I had them as a kid, but I don't have them on my face
any longer.   I still have some on my arms and legs.
(or maybe that's age spots)

Babyfine,
If it is not a freckle, it is a natural beauty mark; I don't care if it is really a wart.

I think this is so cool.  Freckles are angel kisses!
My freckles get more pronounced with sun exposure but I don't get a lot of it.  I'm just glad they are still here.

Does anyone have dimples?  I have one on the  right side of my smile.  I'm asymetrical.

Widow's peaks?  Cowlicks?  Strong natural parts?

Does anyone else have a cat/dog/rabbit/other, in their lap blocking the keyboard?  Sorry, that is off topic.

I don't have freckles on my face, but I have quite a few on my knees and arms. Awhile ago I was told that I had a peaches and cream complexion (I'd always considered myself more of the pasty white type myself).

As for the cowlicks, I have one towards the front of my hair, which was the main reason I decided to grow out my bangs, which always seemed to go to the side. Now it's not really noticeable. Oh, and I did have a Boston Terrier curled up on my lap, but she got down when she heard someone in the kitchen.  ;)

Cookiemonster,
Your complexion sounds really pretty; peaches and cream is quite a compliment!

I have a large cowlick in the front that doesn't lend itself to bangs either, but with bangs grown out I find that the cowlick sometimes adds some height or volume to the front.

How big is your terrier?  I'll bet he/she is hard to type around! LOL My same cat just jumped down out of my lap for who knows why.

I have really white skin. Almost translucent. LOL

It goes well with the red hair, but when Hubby and I were in Cancun, Mexico this last October, we stuck out like sore thumbs (he's very white as well, but with LOADS of freckles everywhere that there has been sun exposure - except his face. Kind of ruddy. I love it.) because everyone there was so dark tanned.

I have a splash of freckles along my nose and a few on my cheeks. They got quite dark when we were in Mexico, but have since lightened up. I can't keep a tan to save my life. I burn more than anything.

I don't have a widows peak...but always wanted one. A bunch of cowlicks at the back of my head with I hated when my hair was short. And my hair tends to part to the left. I have dimples, but they are on my arse, which I HATE. LOL!!! (Too much information!)

Oh, and I have a Doberman Pinscher, but she's living 6000 miles away with my Mum at the moment. I miss her so much. She would've crushed my lap if I'd let her sit on it. She weighs 120lbs!!

*giggles*  RUA!!!  Me too.. *LAUGHS!!*

I have a peaches and cream complexion.. very pale skin contrasted with lots of pink undertones.   Add to the fact that I embarrass and blush EASILY.. *laughs*  I love it, I don't look like my tanned companions, but I kinda like the fact that I'm a bit different.  Although, it tends to make me look a little old fashioned..

But it's heck when it comes to me, my skin, and the sun.. I seem to have two shades.. white lady or red lady.. (and I mean RED!  Boiled lobster look... yuck)  I have to seriously slather on the SPF 45 whenever I go out because I burn that easily.  The problem is I love the outdoors so... well, lots of hats and a few million bottles of suncreen later....

White she is!

I have a small spattering of freckles across the tip of my nose, barely noticible unless you're right up on my face, which means only my romantic au pair has ever seen them...  :-[
*smiles*

She's about 15 pounds, really tall though. She's not normal shaped for her breed.  :P I have two others who are slightly smaller (though one is fatter).

I have a widow's peak, and let me tell you, it's not all that exciting. I wish my temples weren't quite so deep, between the two my forehead looks somewhere between very high and male pattern baldness.

No cowlick, but the hair at the back of my crown does a little circular whorl thing that lays perfectly flat on my scalp, just like the rest of my hair. Perfectly flat. Always. Forever.

i don't have any freckles myself but i also belief in sun protection as the one and only remedy to stay young ... cuze in my opinion white skin = young skin!
i put make up with spf 15 and usually my daycream has some protection as well. as soon as there's real sun i put spf 60. not only to stay white but also to avoid thickening of my skin which would only worsen my (very mild) acne.

You girls are all so lucky with your freckles and peaches "n cream complexions...my complexion is olive and I always get comments about my red hair not "being natural" . It drives me crazy.

*laughs*  Ladies and gents will ask me all the time, "is that your natural color?"  Yes, dearies, it is!  I guess red hair is just not very commonplace these days.. well, that and the fact that if you're not happy with your natural haircolor, you have the easy (and from what I hear, relatively inexpensive) option of changing it.

Is your hair dark auburn, Spaceybabe, or more of a strawberry blonde?  I'm a dark auburn, myself.

Well. it WAS a natural dark red, but now my younger sister who's a hairdresser has decided I need a change and she's dyed it a dark plummy, almost purple-black. Am I making sense? So now I reckon I need to talk to the gals over at the raven haired club.  :)
Thank for asking, I liked my red hair, but I think I like this colour even more.

Yep, I have freckles.  If I wanted to cover them all up with makeup, it would cost me about $24 an application because I have them all over.  I even have them on my feet!
Once, I tried to tan, laying out in the sun for an hour a day for 3 days, and was rewarded with a spattering of lovely little freckles all over my knees.  Not quite what I was going for  :-/
Does anyone else have permanent freckles?  I swear I have freckles on my shoulders from 10 years ago...
Do I like them?  I appreciate them because they are different.  There aren't many people who have freckles like I have freckles.  Aesthetically I don't mind them, but I'd like to be able to go out in the sun for hours at a time without having to apply and reapply sunscreen and wear a hat and then worry if the SPF was high enough and if I'll end up with deadly skincancer at 30 as punishment for my time having fun in the sun.  *sigh*
Maybe I'll move to Alaska and become the first redheaded eskimo :D

I used to have freckles when I was younger and I remember I had a photo taken with a boyfriend in one of those photo booths along the pier at the seaside. My freckles over my nose were so noticeable I threw the photograph into the sea off the pier. I don't have so many now, or perhaps they have faded but I still have some on my arms and legs. I would love to have creamy skin.

It's funny (well not as in ha-ha, but as in peculiar), because my Dad is what I would call a real red-head, in that he used to have very red hair, and freckles that covered him from head to toe, golden eyelashes and creamy skin.

I have the gingery hair and paler skin (though I wouldn't call it creamy, because I still go brown out in the sun), but my brother has extremely dark hair (like my Mum) and yet he's the one with the freckles! Genetics are a wonderful thing!  :D

I'm a redhead (as you can see), my father was a redhead and my two daughters are redheads though my son has dark hair. My sister had dark hair too as a child but since moving to the States her hair has started to bleach in the sun and she is quite blonde now. My ancestors are Irish and Scottish so I suppose that is where I get it from. Mind you, I have 19 cousins, none of whom are redheads but funnily enough a lot of them have children who are redheads. I also know a lady who was a redhead with all the freckles until she had her first child and her hair went very dark brown but she still has the freckles. I must say it does look a little strange. Yes, genetics is a fascinating subject.

Jules,

I have always heard that many redheads live in England, Ireland, and Scotland!  Do you find that is true?
I have always wanted to be a redhead....and have temporarily colored my hair red several times.  I have also used henna to get the strawberry blonde look.
