WOW Bikerbraid! That is awesome. Maybe in 2006 I'll have 41" of hair! This month, though, I'm measuring in at 35.5".  :)

Congratulations Bikerbraid on 41"!

And congratulations to Leia, too!  That is a pretty impressive number you've got there, too!

I haven't measured yet.

Bikerbraid, your hair is almost half longer than mine  :o. Sounds really great.

You just wait, I'm going to catch you up. ;D One day. Though my last month's growth went to hair salon's floor: result is barely 55 cm (21.65 inches), same as last month.

Happy new year to everyone!

I think 2005 will be a maintenance year for me.  The thin ends need to be trimmed up a bit.  This will give everyone a chance to catch up and pass me!

Well done, BB! An inspiration to me!  :D

I must say, I am very pleased with my hair growth. The last time I measured my hair in October, I did it wrong. (Making me feel like my hair has grown loads when it actually hasn't! LOL!  ;D)

This time, I measured from my hairline, over my head and down to the end and I've come in at 22 1/4 inches (56cm). YAY!

If I measure the wrong way like I did in October, it means that I've had roughly 3 inches growth since then!

I couldn't wait any longer. It's 35-1/8". That puts me about 1 year from classic.

;D Great job to all for your hair lengths!  I'll have wonderful long hair dreams.
Mine is 17"/43 cm, which is an inch for December (I measured 16"/40.5 cm in early December but didn't get to post it)  Wow :o a whole inch!  I've had people tell me my hair was growing fast, but you know how it sure doesn't feel like it.

35.75'

I bought some GNC ultranourishair vitamins today--(great deal @ $4.24 because they'll expire in Feb.) I'm looking forward to seeing how this will affect my hair growth.

Am I terminal at 18" or am I just a crummy measurer?
I didn't gain ANYTHING since last month. :'(

My hair has been at waist length several times in my adult life and it had not stopped growing then, I just gave into pressure to cut.

I still can't find any split ends, I have a lot of new growth all over my head 1" to 3" long.  I'm only shedding in the shower about 5 hairs and I have quite a few longer hairs at the bottom that seem to be outgrowing the bulk of my length by about 1/4".

Even if this is terminal, I'll just have to have the healthiest 18" hair I can have.

But I really hope this is not it.

I havent been all that diligent about taking my GNC Ultranourishair vitamins for about the last 6 weeks.  I wonder if that could be making a difference?

Also, I have old bleach on my last few inches; it could be breakage I'm just not seeing.

Congrats on everyone's great growth!
SF

ETA: I got a 1" (approximate) trim so now I'm claiming 17 inches.  My next trim will be when my hair is long enough to pull it around and trim it myself.  I will S&D though.  Edited 1-04-05.

Strawberryfine, to me it doesn't sound like you had hit terminal length. It is winter now, and I've heard (probably here) that hair often rests during winter, grows slower or maybe not at all.

As my hair isn't so much longer than yours, I also suspect that your measurement might not be quite accurate. I have awkward time when I try to measure myself, and I wouldn't be surprised if there would be error margin of half an inch or so (in other words: just one month's worth of growth).

Just hang on in there...there will be growth when there will be growth.  :) :hug

that's right, if your hair isn't long enough to bring it in front of you it's quite difficult to measure.

Congratulations BB!! I'm jealous! SF, I'm sure you haven't hit teminal length, especially if you had waist
length hair before in your adult life.  Right now I don't know how to measure my hair.  Is it from the top of the
hairline of  the forehead over the back?

Title: Re: January 2005
Post by bikerbraid on Jan 3rd, 2005 at 6:30pm
Yes, Babyfine.  Start at the hairline in front, go over the top of your head, to the ends of your longest hair.  Then report here your results (that's the most important part!)

23 inches for me!

I was 22.5 inches for December, but I know it's winter so my hair won't grow nearly as fast.

A half inch per month is considered typical growth, Kaylin.  I'm ticked pink when I can get 1/2 inch in a single month!

I think I'll skip January...
Since December was the first time I'd ever measured my length..... I don't want to get too eager to check it's progress, then feel disappointed if I don't see much change...  :-/
So - - - - I'm waiting till February ;D

See, hair ... I'm not looking, I'm not measuring, So you can grow and no one will know - ha ha ha ha ha

Nerves of steel.. Nerves of steel.. ;D at least that's my goal. I hid my tape measurer and have been hiding it since, hm.. come to think of it, it was probably around September. I'm going to try putting off measuring until Valentines Day or longer, longer if I still don't have the urge to measure once the day comes around. My hair just seems longer when I don't measure. To give an idea, though, it's barely waist length right now. It's really slowed down in the cold months.

Congrats on everyone's growth!!! :D

Wow.  You really do have nerves of steel, Anais.

I am thinking of postponing any further measuring for an indeterminate while; I don't want to measure until I've regained the inch I just lost and I would preferably like to be past that before I measure.  That would be at least 3 months.  I think I'll try for 3 months and not measure until April.  Although, MMMV.  LOL

ah, mission acomplished. i managed to trim off no more than 4 mm so i am back at 86 cm or 33.86".

i first didn't believe such a tiny trim on hair that looked and felt perfectly ok and undamaged could actually be beneficial but damn ... it does feel "fresher" in the ends without losing more than maybe two weeks of growth.  8)

i am going to do this every two months from now on  :D

i remeasured and remeasured because at some point i was only reading 85 cm and freaked out. my bf says there's a strand right in the middle that is shorter lol.
and tailbone for me is only at 97 - 97.5 cm (38.2" - 38.4") ... still so far away!

I measured in last night at 35.5 inches - same as Leia  ;) That's an inch of growth since November (I never measured for December...). Not quite as much as from October to November, but hey, it's still good progress.

I've decided not to trim my hair until graduation, except for the occassional dusting and maybe to even out some scraggly ends. I want to get as much growth as possible!

BTW, Leia, I went back and checked the June measurements (the first month I measured), and you've gained about 4 inches in the last 7 months, while I've gained about 3 (I was about an inch longer than you in June). But I also trimmed off almost an inch somewhere in there, so it looks like we're growing at practically the same rate.  :)

Cool! I trim every month, but a veeeery tiny amount. I probably have only trimmed .25-.5" in the past 7 months. I can't wait for my hair to be classic length!  ;D

@ leia lol ... you're already pushing your goals! i guess growing hair is a serious addiction (maybe cuze other wise the urge to cut might hit in order to change something).

maybe i shouldn't have such big goals, that way it's less frustrating. i think i'd calm down when i finally hit tailbone cuze that seems like so much longer than boring waist length i seem to have had forever (if i count  in all the years i was at that length)

I suppose now's not the time to tell you that my hair will grow about an inch a month during the summer monthes?

My hair when wet, the back can be pulled 3 inches past my collarbone on the front of my body.

I will reach shoulder blade length in no time.

but maybe by then i'll have hair i consider staisfyingly long  :D

Hmm...I don't think that I will have reached my goal either unless the pregnancy hormones go into overdrive!

Either way, by next January, my hair will be a nice length hopefully - so long as I don't get the postpartum itch to cut.

:lol Not me! I estimate that my hair will be then in BSL or little lower (unfortunately, I'm pretty tall...) My goal is hip length, so long, long way to go

Title: Re: January 2005
Post by Cairn on Jan 12th, 2005 at 1:34am
I doubt it, unless I get some major growth over the summer. My goal is to be able to easily sit on it, which I'd estimate is about 6 inches from my current length. I've added just under 3 inches to my length since I started measuring in June. But then my hair's also much healthier than it was last summer, so hopefully things will quicken up a bit. I'm optimistic.  :)

I measured today and got 36 inches!  ;D I think I had measured the wrong way a month or so back because I did it from the center part to the side and had gotten around 31.  ??? This time I measured from my front hair line over my head to the longest in the back and came up with 36...a full yard of hair!!!  8) ;D

Will I reach my hair goal by next year? I hope not!

Discovering my terminal length is my goal - and I'm HOPING it's longer than I've ever worn it!

Longest hair length in adulthood (in my 20's) was high thigh - but I purposely started trimming to just below waist (didn't like it falling into the potty, don't you know)... Now that it's "up" all the time - & that won't be an issue - I'm hoping that 20 years later and far better cared for..... it will pass that length!  I'm about 4 inches from my former "longest length" .... So - it's watch and wait for me!
