hey,

lately i have been putting my hair in a bun for 3 days straight(haha no pun intended). im curious how many of you ladies do? even non curly ones...its ok just in general. let me know ladies. ???

Not a curly person here, but I have my hair in a bun about 5 out of 7 days in the winter. During the summer it is probably 3-4 out of 7.

The difference between summer and winter for me is clothing. Turtlenecks, wool, and polarfleece cause tangles with my hair, so I wear it in a bun. My summer clothes are more hair friendly which allows me to wear it down in braids more often.

thanks for your reply bikerbraid. also do u use a scrunchie or bobby pins when doing a bun. sometimes i use both, but i like bobby pins more. its more of a finished look. scrunchie = frumpy sometimes. also do u put it in a high bun or low one. i like a low bun because of my flyaways.

My buns are held with just a hairstick or two. I did use scrunchies when my hair was shorter, but now I seldom use scrunchies - it is too hard to pull all my hair through them several times.

I wear a bun 2-3 times a week. It depends on how fluffy my wavy/curly locks stay after washing. I love to wear it in a bun with my hairsticks, but sometimes its just too poofy. I use an invisible pony holder, bobby pins, hair pins and then decorate with the hairsticks. I'm at about 20 inches in length and have some layers to contend with. If it will be windy I will use a very light hold hairspray as well-BEFORE I put the hairsticks in.
My bun is usually in the middle of the back of my head-I teach yoga and a low bun wouldn't allow me to lay on the center of the back of my head with hairsticks in. Although sometimes I save up the postures that require a reclined position for when I'm not wearing a bun. ;D

that must be cool to teach yoga. i really enjoy yoga, but i am currently doing pilates.

sakina what is your hair type?

bikerbraid what is your diet like? what does it take to eat for hair like that. ill eat anything.

I try to eat a balanced, heathly diet. I take a good multi vitamin and mineral supplement with extra MSM, Biotin, and Silica.
