I couldn't handle having hair that long, mine's hip length and I don't think I will let it go past maybe another 4-6 inches.  :-/

Personally, I think that anything longer than ankle length ceases to be attractive.  I agree with Styg - the woman should cut off like a meter to help out the ends.  Nonetheless, this is just my opinion - if the lady prefers her hair this way, then she should keep it this way - perhaps she seeks to break a world record.    ;D

Holy hairpins, that's a lot of hair!!  I agree--most of it looks healthy and shiny but the ends need a good trimming.  

It looks cool- but it would be far too much for me to put up with on a daily basis.

Ah yes, her hair is just amazing. I've seen her before and I've posted pictures of her in my online journal and in another hair community.

I think she's very beautiful, though her hair may be hard to take care of.

I think after ankle length, the hair would just get inconvient. There's no way this lady wears her hair down anywhere, but at home (maybe). What's the fun of having long hair if you can't wear it down once in a while.
The length I'm aiming for is classic, but I am impressed by those of you with it longer.   :D

And long may you grow Meg 8).  However, there are many who get much pleasure out of hair grazing their ankles and even longer hair and YES, most emphatically, some do wear it down most of the time albeit with whatever constraints are necessary once it hits the floor *snork*.  An assistant perhaps  ;D.

I think I would require hair minions to help care for my hair needs if I ever hit the floor with my hair.  Of course, I would accept hair minion assistance at any time.  ;D

Hee hee. Hair minons sound like fun. In the old days, didn't wealthy ladies have someone to do their hair for them? I wouldn't mind.  :D

Personal attendants were not uncommon.  They would help with dressing (particularly lacing the corset), hair and caring for the ladies' clothing.    Some would also have duties similar to a maid - responsible for maintaining the lady's dressing room/bed room, and parlor.  It was a position of great distinction amoung the household staff.

I'm a volunteer hair minion!  I can only do crown braids and 5-strand braids on other people.

Hmm, is there an apprenticeship program for wannabe hair minions? I wouldn't mind being one, but I'm afraid my skills are rather lacking.

I think a requirement for a hair minion should include being very knowledgeable about all the products that should or shouldn't be used on long hair -- it certainly boggles my mind trying to keep them all straight  ::)

I would be happy with a hair minion's just being there!!
Braiding skills would be quite appreciated and appropriately rewarded  ;D As would soft touch and patience  :)

This makes me wish there were a training program for aspiring hair minions. Maybe a good hair minion training program would include the following courses:

products to use
products to avoid upon pain of death (er, maybe not that extreme)
the art of zen hair detangling
proper hair care (of course)
remedial bun and braiding techniques
regular bun and braiding techniques
advanced bun and braiding techniques
good nutrition for super-duper hair
how to make hair toys on a budget
the art of fawning over one's hair master/mistress/employer's(?) locks

And there would have to be weekend or evening courses for minions with day jobs. Oh, and a minion-employer matching service once training is completed.

That's all I can think of at the moment. Suggestions?

but really, there can be a polite-society course on how to properly handle unsolicited comments towards the hair master, or a hair wit course. The minion would handle all rebuttals and retorts to questions towards the hair master such as,

"Why is he/she following you?" ("He/she is my hair minion.")

"If you cut your hair shorter, that person would stop following you around" ("Why would ever I want that?"),

"If you cut your hair, that person would have more spare time" ("He/she is a VOLUNTARY minion")

"Would you ever donate it?" ("Are you referring to the hair or the minion?")

"That's slave labor, you fat cow!" ("Yes! What's it to you? ? ?")

and comments directed towards the minion,

"Are you having fun?" ("Of course")

"Do you get paid?" ("No comment")

"I want to take you away and save you from your misery" (at which, the hair minion would give the asker a BLANK STARE)

As far as I am concerned, it is the hair slave who devotes himself to the personal care of his goddess. The minion handles larger chores, like modifying the house to better suit her longhair needs, and buying her the pretty things she needs to best show off her glorious mane.
