Title: anyone here used water-based hair colour?
Post by lanivishnu on Apr 21st, 2005 at 12:24pm
I've been colouring my hair for almost a year now, but I don't like the idea that using ammonia and peroxide on my hair degrades the hair over time. I found this water based hair colour by Atlantis (http://www.atlantishair.com/products.htm - scroll down to the watercolour section) which uses water to activate the colour, not chemicals. I was wondering if anyone had used anything like this and what the results were like?

I've not heard of this product before.  Looks interesting.

Glad to hear you're satisfied so far.  Let us know how the color holds over time.

A couple of things - just wanted to report back; it's been a few weeks and the colour's still gorgeous. Very shiny and thick, still. So, thumbs up for the water-based hair colour so far.

Also, I found another manufacturer of water-based hair colour in the States (these guys don't ship outside of the States though, unfortunately) - the site is http://www.robertcraig.com/color/index.html

They also offer a "clear" colour - which is basically for people who want to get that glossy, thick feeling that you get with hair colour, but without the actual colour  :P Or you can mix it with another colour to make it lighter.

Glad to hear the good, long-lasting results of your hair color.

I've heard good reviews of the Robert Craig products before.  I didn't realize they would not ship outside of the US.

Thanks for all the info!

no worries  ;D

and I actually came across the Robert Craig site before I found the Atlantis haircolour (I live in Australia, and Atlantis was the only one I've found here). I had to do a bit of searching since Robert Craig didn't offer overseas shipping  :(

I love this site, btw...it's very addictive...I've been driving my friends mad with hair tips..."you know, you really should do a clarifying rinse every now and then..." lol! my hair's looking the healthiest and happiest it's been in years, so I'm definitely sticking around ;)

Glad you've found some helpful and interesting info here and thank you for sharing your own findings.  That's what makes these sites "work".
