Title: Food supplement for hair, review

I have been using a Propoline (Apivita nature products company) hair supplement especially for women the last couple of months.I think that for all hair supplements you have to give them a three-months-period for the effect to kick in, at least that's what I was told. I'll give it this month too and then again during the Fall. The pharmacists who sold them to me told me that it is usually better to stop food supplements during the hot months, (summer is hot here).
That Apivita one I've been using *seems* to work, at least for less shedding. I'll see how it goes during May and I'll report again.

The product is called Propoline - Hair Care System for Women with Brewer's yeast, L-Cystine and Soya Isoflavones.

Hi, G_L.  I think you are correct, it takes at least 3 mos. to see results and as many as 6 mos. depending on any deficiency.

I've never heard about not taking supplements in warmer weather-I live in a desert!  Very interesting.

Brewer's yeast is a major source of protein  ;D.

And this is a collosal pain in the butt because it makes it so hard to determine what is affecting what.

Hormones, same situation, ditto meds.

Sometimes the only thing to do is go off and on a few times to see...good luck and let us know, g

Hi greek_lady,

I'd say the best foods for hair is anything that is high in proteins like fish, rice, chicken, or poultry.  Try to stay away from red meats if you can.  They are very high in iron and protein as well but red meat isn't really good for the human body.  I eat mostly poultry, fresh fruits and veggies.  I've also learned over the years that fresh fruits and vegetables are very good for the hair as well.  Especially for shine.  I've notice certain fruits gives your hair lots of beautiful shine.  I think it's the peaches, oranges, and mangos.  But I would think or say that all fresh fruits and veggies are very good for your hair's health.
