Title: Peroxide Removal--Possible???
Post by Christiana on Jun 2nd, 2005 at 7:08pm
Oh, please help!!!!!!!!!  I used 3% hydrogen peroxide to lighten my dark brown bangs--and now they are coppery orange!

Please, please tell me I can wash this out or get rid of it somehow--I want my dark brown back!!!

What can I do short of dyeing it?  I don't want to add another color or anything to it.  Is there some substance I can use to remove it?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!  :'(

There is no way to "remove" the proxide from the hair unless you cover over it. =(  Since peroxide bleaches the hair, the only way to cover it is to use a dye of some sort.  I have dyed my hair many colors over many years, so I can suggest a semi-permanent color for this situation.  This way, the hair can gradually go back to its original color.

I have heard of brunettes using a permanent color to mask, but their strands end up turning black.  Be very careful if you wish to do this at home.

When in doubt, ask a professional.  Your hair will get back on track /hug.
