Title: Wet Hair Combing
Post by NaturalRogue on Jun 23rd, 2005 at 7:20pm
Oh gentle elle, elle oracle, having just acquired a horn comb (and loving the way it glides through my hair) I have need of guidance.  I have, from where I cannot find nor recall, gotten it into my head that combing wet hair with a horn comb was a bad idea.

So, okay, I have three questions instead of one!  :-[

Is it okay to comb wet hair with a horn comb? My thinking is that if it glides through my monster mess of waves and curlies dry, it'd be great wet.

Whether or not it's alright to use a horn comb on wet hair, how is it bad for the hair and/or the comb?

Thank-you, oh godesses of all good things for long hair.

HEY!  You forgot to leave gifts!

Oh well....... ::)

Horn combs can be used on wet/damp hair.  They should not be soaked in water or oil.  I've always suggested wiping it dry if used on dripping wet hair.  Excess moisture can make it soft, but it should be able to handle being used on wet/damp hair.

So go ahead - detangle those gorgeous locks with your special horn comb.
