Post by Sexywitch on Sep 2nd, 2005 at 10:59am
Does anyone know a recipe for a deep conditioner for curly hair? I've already tried olive oil and honey- that made my hair reallllly greasy. Then I tried I tried avacado and mayonaise, didnt do a darn thing, actually I think it even dried my hair out even more :o. Whats a curly haired girl to do  ???

I really like Jessicurl's weekly deep treatment:
Here are the ingredients:
Water infused with lemongrass,Nettle,Burdock,Kelp,Marshmallow root,Horsetail,Basil,Bay Leaf,Oregano,Rosemary,Peppermint,Sage and Thyme,Aloe Vera Juice,Behentrimonioum,Methosulfate,Cetearyl Alchohol,Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter,Glycerin, Lecithin,Diazolidinyl Urea,IdopropynopynyButycarabamate,Fragrance.

It is very moisturizing.
I'm only a wavy, not a curly,but I still like it
(It is recommended to use with heat)

Curls has a deep conditioner that really really helps puts definition and moisture back into the curls.  Find it on the website!  www.curls.biz

I just had a go at using a recipe I found on the web. 2 whole eggs and 3 tablespoons of olive oil and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. I did leave it on for four hours as I couldn't be bothered to shower at the time and then got worried that I would be trying to wash out scrambled egg but no problem and my ends, which were getting kinda dry, are really well conditioned and soft. Next time I am going to try Jojoba oil.

Thanks Jules. My ends tend to get really dry, and everything I've tried hasnt worked :(. Maybe this will  ;D.

I tried this yesterday, it made my hair very soft, except for my ends  :(. I think they are just damaged from the highlights I got 2 years ago, and they are still growing out. I dont want to cut out the damage all at once, its at least three inches. I will do it gradually.

My ends are damaged also and I seem to go in cycles of them being horribly dry to ok.

A couple things that seem to work most of the time: ACV rinse once a week for me, and I mix in a couple tbsp's of honey.  I mix it with warm water so its not sticky, just leaves my hair soft and shiny.  Also, when I'm out of the shower I'll mix shea butter and a couple drops of jojoba oil on my ends.  This almost always leaves me with soft hair.

Do you just leave the shea butter in your ends or wash it out?  I usually leave mine in since my ends tend to get dry and frizzy, but a lot of people seem to wash thiers out.
