Title: He's growing it back!
Post by Lisabelle on Oct 16th, 2005 at 11:15am
After years of shaving, my hubby is growing back his hair!! (happy dance)  8)

I need some advise as he has a oily scalp.  He has been using my Nature's Gate Original shampoo and nothing else.  His hair is about 1/4 inch now and is blondeish red.  Help!  ::)

The scalp produces oil to meet demand.  If you wash your hair frequently, it will produce more oil to replenish what has been washed away.  (Keep in mind, I'm making global generalizations here).

Making the final rinse a cool or lukewarm water temp will also help. If your head is "hot", it will sweat, producing more oils before you even finish drying off!

I wish your hubby lots of luck with growing out his hair.

BB Thanks!  He has full blown oily skin too, he's 41 and not a sign of dryness (lucky man!)

Happy Growing Lisabelles hubby! :D

How long does he want it to grow?

Lets see, oily scalp, these herbs are used to help oily scalp/ hair :- chamomile, nettle, bayleaf, mint, horsetail, lemongrass, thyme.

HTH :)

Beesan16  I don't know how long he wants it.  But I hope maybe to his shoulders? ;D  Ah nettle...I think I will spray nettle tea on his head every night to help the scalp along with a message ( he loves these!) ::)

The hedgehog stage is always fun! My dad shaved his head a few times just for the heck of it and it was funny to watch his hair grow back.

Good luck with solving the oily scalp problem!

Aww...hedgehogs are cute! And I'd never knock Jean-Luc Picard...I had a "thing" for him when I was in jr. high! lol Some men do look sexy bald. A rare few, that is...

But it is awesome that your husband is growing out his hair, Lisabelle! Better still is that it will still grow at 41 years of age. Lucky guy. I think I've already discreetly mentioned how my former husband began balding at 22.  :o

Best of luck to him! And best of luck to you in helping him along the way.  ;)

Angel Spun  Thanks!  My hubby was balding when we met.  He was about 23 I think, his hair was white blonde from the sun then.  He use to have long bangs that covered his eyes. (soo cute!) Then one day he got a hair cut, man was he mad.  The barber realy scalped him. hehehe!  I was asleep in my dorm room at school when I woke to find him sitting on the edge of my bed, smoking his pipe, and looking really perplexed.  I was delighted to finally see his eyes!  Ah memoires.....^ ^

What type of hair does he have...or should I say WILL he have?  Thick/thin?  Straight/curly?  We have a clue as to the color, you said blondish-red - I always need a visual!  I send him lots of "perserverence" wishes on getting thru the hedgehog stage - I have a friend who always tries to re-grow his hair, but once he gets to that stage he shaves it again!  Must be the toughest part, I guess!
