Title: Kimberlily's mayo treatment
Post by kimberlily on Oct 26th, 2005 at 6:10pm
This is fantastic on my hair. The olive oil and honey are moisturizing, and the egg gives my hair a boost of protein :)

1 cup olive oil
1 room temperature egg (embryo removed)
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp vinegar
1 tsp lemon juice
essential oils of your choice

Put all ingredients in a blender or use a stick blender. Mix until you have a mayonnaise consistency. Smush it into dry hair, wrap your hair in plastic wrap and a towel, and let it sit for at least 30 minutes. Rinse well in warm water, and wash as you usually do.

Some people don't like the eggy smell of mayo for their hair, which is why I make my own. I can add whatever essential oils I choose (usually clary sage, lavendar or rosemary) AND this is much cheaper than storebought mayo.

It will keep in the fridge for about 2 weeks.

Enjoy  ;D

Looks like a great treatment.  How often do you use it?
