Post by unholyconfessions_ on Dec 1st, 2005 at 6:03pm
i have a really long grown out side fringe which i want to get cut, but where its parted is like a huge quiff in my hair which makes my hair stick up at the roots. it annoys the hell out of me because i cant get my fringe to lie flat!!

how to i sort this out???

one more thing - i have to wash my hair every day because it gets soooo greasy does anyone have any tips for de-greasing my hair??

thanks peace out <3

Hi there!

Besides an apple cider rinse (you can check out Anais Satin's website for more info. click "clarifying"), you could try a baking soda rinse (dilute 1/2 cup of baking soda in a cup of water, pour on and massage into hair for a few minutes, then rinse).

As for the bangs, I'm not sure. Would you mind explaining what a quiff looks like? I'm imagining a cow-lick kind of thing (hair sticks up in one area), is that what it is?

Greetings, unholyconfessions

Perhaps you should talk to a stylist about your bangs, er..."fringe." hehe

I do recommend weekly vinegar rinses to get rid of scalp oil & buildup (I have oily hair too and wash every day).

It's very simple to do. Just take an empty container, like an old plastic water bottle, and pour in just a little bit of vinegar (you can use regular white or apple cider vinegar). Fill the rest of the bottle with water, cap it, shake it up & pour the mix over freshly-shampoo-ed hair. Works like a charm.  :)

Good luck!

If your hair is approx. less than an inch and a half (if your fringe is that short) you will have to wait a month or so for the hair to grow so it lays down because of it's own weight.  If it is a cowlick, you could use some gel or pomade to keep it in place.  Garnier Fructis has a "putty" that is not shiny.  It is also lightweight and does not build-up.

Vinegar rinses are *so* great!  If your hair comes out and it feels dry, use less vinegar next time.
