Title: Questions about henna...
Post by Valerita on Apr 15th, 2006 at 4:40pm
I have a few questions about Henna.

First of all, a simple question (I think,) how often should one apply Henna? One of my friends told me that I can apply it once a week... is that safe or true? If not, how often should I apply it?

I tried asked a Health Care professional in a local Health Shop; they said they weren't sure but suggested I should use a shampoo called Jasons Henna Hilighting Shampoo. So here comes my next question, has anyone ever heard of this? I'm still trying to figure out if its something you can use daily, or if it really works as good as Henna and nourishes you hair like she said it would. In other words, I'd like some reviews before I go out and purchase it... please?

So two questions, anyone know the answers?  ???

Henna can be applied a soften as you like. There is no need to avoid roots, just cover all thea hair with it ever time you want a  color boost. You are better off getting artists quility henna which has more pigment in it.

Thats a good link for henna info.

I've used "neutral henna' just for the benefits of body and shine (it leave sno color). You have to leave the mixture overnight in a warm place (maybe by the stove or telvsion , covered. And you have too add lemon juice becaus ethe acid activates the color.

Thank you so much, Sara! The links were a great help! I had to put them into favorites.

I’m going to try this sometimes this week so I’ll tell you how it goes! And if it’s to die for, the goose crap look won’t bother me… okay, maybe it will just a little. ;)

Thanks again!

Sara's links on henna are good ones.  I have no experience myself with henna.

I have used Jason's Highlighting shampoo and conditioner.  I like them both.  The shampoo does not lather much, but it is a nice gentle shampoo.

Good luck and let us know how your henna experience goes!
