Title: Always a blonde
Post by Blondestorm on May 16th, 2006 at 12:31pm
I have always been a light to golden blonde since childhood, but I would love to go RED.  I just don't have the courage to amke the leap.  I have used henna rinses and temporary red rinses before.  Has anyone lese ever experiemnted with color being a natural blonde?

My hair was white as a small child, then turned golden blonde, and is now a light brown (with silver/grey). the only coloring I've ever done was to lighten my hair.  I admit tho, that strawberry blonde is a favorite hair color.  I have no suggestions - but would love to see/hear how your experiments go!

Bikerbraid,

The next time I color my hair red with temporary color, I'll send you a picture.  I'm too chicken to make it permanent yet. My favorite color is also Strawberry Blonde!

I was blonde as a teenager and I dyed my hair red.  It was supposed to wash out in 6-8 washes, but that hair was red until it fell out.  I had a salon 'fix' it and I became strawberry blonde for a while too.

I loved it on the 2nd day because it was purple.  Thats tempting to do again.

If you do dye it, just be careful not to use a color that is too dark. I have a friend whose hair is blonde, and she just dyed it red. She said it's tempting to go for a dark, rich red, but for the first try, go lighter than you think you want to. Her's turned out quite purple and didn't lighten to red for a few weeks.

Yes, I agree with Pixie, go one to two shades lighter than you think.  Blonde hair will grab color.  Make sure you do a color test first tho.
