Title: Bob length! The most annoying length!
Post by Rainbow on Sep 9th, 2006 at 4:02pm
I feel that from personal experience that bob length has got to be the worst length for me. Not only do i have half a head of virgin hair and the other half bleach but i also struggle with getting it into a hairband. This is not my only problem i also have only 1 do-able hairstyle!

Does anyone have any tips on how to get through this bad stage. Or anything that might encourage me at bob length? I feel so ungirly with a poke of hair coming out a hairband at the back of my head each day. I am such a girly girl but this style is so tomboy looking.

On my hair gowing journal i am expected to reach shoulder length with complete virgin hair by October07 it just feels soo depressing. Please help.

Rainbow:  Sorry to hear you're so frustrated with your hair.  I guess growing hair is a lot like raising kids -  ;D some stages are really tough and some are delightful.  But it's always worth the trouble.   :)  Hang in there!

When I had a bob I use to do half ups, wear head-bands and twist little sections back with little claw clips.
One good thing, even with my impossible slow growing hair- my hair grew fairly quickly from chin length to shoulders, even though it was bleached at the time(and I kept up the bleaching). Once your hair gets to shoulders you can do a lot more, so as ponys, ect.

Growing out stages are sooo tough.

One suggestion would be to make little rows of twisted hair that go from the hairline to a line that runs from ear to ear over the top of your head.  You can use those tiny plastic hairband, or tiny claw clips to hold the hair.  There are even headbands that have the clips on them, making it easy to get your twists lined up and even.

French braiding and twisted hair rows are great for growing out hair because they hold the different lengths better.

Good luck!

Rainbow, I'm at the same short length as well, so I know your frustration. I'm trying new things with bobby pins in the back, instead of pony tail holders. It seems to be working better-but I can't wait for it to be long enough for some other style options.  :P

Yes i have to agree growing from bob to shoulder length is a pain but it passes, i used to twist my hair into little sections and bobby clip it, like out of sight out of mind!

Sorry your finding this stage frustrating but keep in there, in a few months time it will look a whole lot different.
