Title: Convincing, others to grow out their hair

Seems to be no easy task. Many people believe you are born with beatiful long hair and that you cant get it. My sister has a shoulder length frizz which she believes cant get better as she has tried so many products. Not to mention straighening it everyday.

After an hour of hair conversation and reminding her of her teenage air photos (she has natural chocolate brown ringlets without inerferance) she has decided to not dye her hair again and is also growing out her layers as she believes ths s whats stunting her hair growth.

Hopefully i can get her to grow it long and be my hair buddy. Right now she does not believe her hair could ever get longer than shoulder.

Have you even convinced anyone to go long? If so what were their main concerns about going long?

I don't try to convince others, unless they seem to want to.  I know how frustrated I get when folks try to convince me that I need to cut mine!

But when someone says something like "I wish I could grow my hair as long as yours" then I'll encourage them.  I recommend this web site and LHC and tell them they can do it.

I'm with oldkathy - I don't convince people to grow their hair, but I will encourage it!  ;D  I have a coworker that has always believed she could not grow her hair past her shoulders because it is curly and "fluffy".  I've made a few suggestions and her hair is past her shoulders and well on its way to mid back!  It is challenging hair, but she has found the CO routine and a bit of jojoba oil to work wonders with her hair.
