My very fine hair needs a light oil.  Jojoba works very well for me.  I've tried EVOO and found it to be waaaaay too heavy - it left my hair stringy and greasy.

I have used EVOO with some success (less is better!)  and also use Africa's Best Ultimate Herbal Oil. I have 2a/f/ii hair.

Since my hair is still not quite down to my shoulders, I haven't used oil yet.  I make sure to condition well and often, and so far my hair seems happy.  :)   Probably by this coming summer I shall have started to use oil.  As my hair is mostly fine, I'll first try jojoba oil.

I use a recipe of oils on my hair.  I use jojoba oil, fractionated coconut oil, shea oil, sweet almond oil and lavender, rosemary and sage e/o.

For whatever reason, my PM's aren't working, so let's see if this actually lets me post...  >:(

I use a special oil mixture on the very ends of my hair only. It consists of water, baby oil & aloe vera gel. Works great if the ratios are right, but I have to keep adding water periodically or the balance is off.

I don't use oil that often. But when I do, I use either jojoba or almond oil with a few drops of jasmine or lavender EO.
I have just recently acquired my first tin of shea butter and used it last night. I am now awaiting the results of that first experimental use.

Although I surely don't qualify for Very Long Locks

I use oil on my scalp an hour before or sometimes the night before I'm going to wash.  I alternate with Banyan Botanicals' Brahmi or Bhringaraj, which are herbs in organic sesame oil and Nature's Gift stimulating scalp massage oil which contains a blend of cedarwood, lavandin, rosemary and thyme in grapeseed & jojoba oils.
In general I don't oil my ends, with winter coming I may use LouiseMarie Longhairs' Bliss Butter Balm just on the ends of my piggy braids when I sleep the night before a wash.

i had been using jojoba for years until i recently finally got the courage to order some virgin coconut (my s/o really hates artificial coco perfumes and was expecting the real stuff to be equally nasty). well, i really love it. it's supposed to be heavier than jojoba but strangely both my skin and hair absorb it far better so i risk less to end up with greasy hair - which i do tend to have easily with jojoba! but it's apparently tricky to use as a treatment, far harder to wash out than jojoba. the smell is fine too (the s/o doesn't complain) and it doesn't linger at all if you don't overoil.

Funny that you mention that about jojoba oil.  I find too much leaves my ends greasy too.  When I use camellia oil or babassu oil that doesn't happen.  Also the fractionated coconut oil works fine also. 8-)

my hair is classic and 1b-f/m-ii. I use coconut oil.....but not very often  ;D I'm laaaaaaaazy! I mostly use oil before I wash and let it soak in.  It works better for me this way and it doesn't matter if I use too much!

I prefer to put the oil on my scalp and just the ends of the braided pigtails I sleep in and wash out the oil the next day.

I never put oil in my hair for the day.

I use an aromatherapy mixture which I make up myself. Basically I make a pomade with beeswax, almond oil and essential oils of my choice, although you dont have to scent it as it has a lovely honey fragrance anyway. You dont need much at all. Just play with measurements until you have a consistency you like (melt together in bain marie and let cool slightly before adding essences then leave to set.) I also have some lovely pure colour gold mica which I add to it sometimes which gives it a lovely golden shimmer. So yes, I picked 'other' in the poll.  :)

I use shea butter blended with orange essential oil, lavender or rosemary, depending on what I have at the time.  Currently I'm using orange.  I find it absorbs well into my hair, but I think it would probably be too heavy for finer hair.  I think it is lighter than EVOO though.

It depends.  I've used EV Olive oil, Jojoba, Coconut, and Grapeseed.  Lately I've been using grapeseed and a brand called Doo Gro.

I have thick curly hair, but it stays straight just by combing it with a horn comb while wet and applying leave in conditioner.

Cheers,
Ryan

I use jojoba oil the nite before I shampoo.  My hair is very fine, curly/wavy, layered, colored and almost BSL.

My hair is fine, but there's a lot of it.  I use sweet almond oil.  It's a tad heavier than jojoba, but not as heavy as say, coconut.  Love it.  I use it on my hair ends, face, and legs after I shave.  It's been a Godsend.  My dry hair and skin just drink it up.  Can't wait to try it this winter!
