Title: jadedrose's hair quest
Post by Meghann on Nov 3rd, 2006 at 9:37pm
so i figured i would start a hair journal to a) share my progress and product reviews and b) so i can rember which days i do what, i am for ever forgetting if i clarifed 2 days ago a week or was it more? my hair is curently 13-14 inches long curly, coarse, thick and in need of a trim. I shampoo about 1-2 per week
currently i am using these products:

shampoo: aquage hydrating shampoo- just got it about 2 weeks ago don't know ifi like it yet, I have a hard time finding shampoos i like because most of them don't make my hair feel clean or they dry it out

condtioner: biolage ultra hydrating balm- love this stuff especially recommended to anyone with dry/damaged hair or thick coarse hair like mine

after shower stuff: a cock tail of bed head ego boost- good for curly hair alothough it      does contain cones
biosilk silk therapy cure- good for me because i blow-dry my bangs everytime i get out or the shower, or the rain. good thermal protector + intensive condioner when heat is appled (includin sun great beach treat) also contains cones
bed head girl toys-adds shine but also helps smooth down my hair also contains cones

clarifying: ACV or redken hair cleansing cream i alternate between the 2 once every 2 weeks

deep conditoning: deep brillance reconstruct- a deep protein treatment to help put back some needed protein into my hair -damaged it with a perm then didn't like the perm so i did a reverse perm i knnow bad bad bad me :( alternated with SMT once every 2 weeks (the off week of clarifying)

i know that seems like A LOT of stuff to put in my hair but it needs it, i hvae tried cutting some product out or changing and my hair just doesn't do well any other way except for shampoo. or well i need to go wash my hair, I'll post some more later, who knows maybe I will even have some interesting stories from work (Haircuttery)

Hi Meghann, congrats on starting a journal of your own!  It's a great way to keep track of your progress.  I wish you the best of luck on your hairgrowth journey, I too have a goal of waist length hair, but seem to always get stuck around 25-26"....which is where I'm at now!  Hopefully you'll be able to sail right past that & keep on going!

maggie  :)

Meghann, I too like the Biolage Hydrating Balm,my hair sucks that right up.  When I can get the Biosilk oil I splurge, but since I mix my own,why bother to buy it?  I' sure other members will attest to Ouidad's prooducts,JessieCurl and Ojon.  I've used all and love them all.  I too have curly, dry (dehydrated,ok!) hair.  Give these products a try and let us know if any work out for you :)

Glad to see you started a journal.  Hopefully it will help you see progress towards your hair goals and keep track of your routines.  Good luck!

Doing a SMT before i head off to work, need to go through and "dust" my hair but my shears need to be sharpened first, guy should be come around the salon this week to do it. I am trying to wear my hair down more often to keep from breaking my hair with my hair ties we will see how that goes at work, could always bring a clip or some hair sticks with me, can't do the scrunchy thing they just are too small for my hair to hold it in place

hey all lonhg time no post... So i decided to ditch all cone products for a while to see how my hair is really doing under it all also switched from aquage to natures gate still going to use biolage balm for a deep conditioner, now i just need to find a leave in conditioner that has no cones ;)

I've used a watered down version of my regular conditioner as a leave in and found it can work as well as those marketed as a leave in.  You might give that a try.
