Title: Hair Oils
Post by ggmum on Nov 22nd, 2006 at 8:54am
Atm I use a herbal coconut based hair oil. It works fine, but the herbs make it smell a little like curry. This would be ok if I liked it, but I can't stand the stuff ::). I have been looking for an oil that smells nice as well as helps my hair. I though about blending my own, then discovered this on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Quality-RELAXING-Aromatherapy-Massage-Oil-100ml_W0QQitemZ190052292649QQihZ009QQcategoryZ36453QQcmdZViewItem

Would it be ok for hair. I know it is supposed to be for massaging, but I could certainly do with the relaxing element ;).

Would appreciate any thoughts.

I would send a message to the person selling and ask for a complete list of ingreidents just to be on the safe side and please pardon my spelling :)

I'm not so sure about that Melissa oil.  The chamomile, lavender, and sweet almond oil are fine for your hair.  I mix up my own blend and I'm told my hair always smells so nice.  I use a little bit of sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, fractionated coconut oil, shea oil and a few drops of each-lavender,sandalwood,rosemary,sage.

Getting a list of the ingredients would be best.  You want to avoid anything with mineral oil or baby oil for your hair.  Those oil molecules are typically too large to be absorbed into the shaft of the hair.

Thanks all. I emailed the seller and all the ingredients are pure. There is just almond oil and essential oils in it and nothing else. Think I may give it a try. I googled melissa oil, and it can be used to help with hair loss (thanks for querying it curlgirl). At least it should smell nice, and I get the benefit of the relaxing alls which are def needed atm (whole other set of problems) ::)
