Title: Faux Bangs?
Post by La Diosa on Feb 15th, 2007 at 6:31am

I've always loved bangs, but have never been able to acheive those really nice ones that cause me to get bang envy.  I stumbled upon faux bangs and think it's an excellent idea for the bang challenged or for someone who may want to wear bangs every once in awhile, and doesn't want to cut their hair.  The strap looks pretty bulky though, and I don't know what that felt looking strip is for, but I'm sure with enough determination and possibly modifiying it, it would look okay.

I want to get one of these, but they don't have my color or texture.  Can anyone who's seen these before recommend a seller that has a wider variety of the afore mentioned?

Interesting concept.  I'm not sure how you would wear them so that the band does not show.

I'm not absolutely certain how to wear it either.  I was thinking I'd have to comb some of my hair over it to make it blend, but then my hair would end up in my face.

It looks quite simple though, I think I could possibly make one myself.  I know that human hair can be purchased in strips from certain beauty supply stores.  I could cut a piece off and sew a much smaller elastic band on it.  Hmm... :-/

I have never seen faux bangs before.  They look interesting but I too would not know how to wear them properly.  I have a hair peice I sometimes wear, it a bunch of curly hair on a scrunchie.  It wraps around my ponytail.  It would be neat to see if you could make your own faux bangs!  8-)

Apparently, this piece is for use with wigs to make them look more natural looking, and that strip slips under the wig.  I'm glad I saw this though because it provided me with the inspiration to create my own.  Hopefully, it will turn out the way I want.

I was thinking you could make some thin braids at the nape of your neck and wrap them over the band.

I've been interested in faux bangs to mix things up without the actual commitment.

Or even a thicker braid for a Grecian look.  That's a really cool idea!
