I do this a few times a week its really easy to make and my skin is really soft afterwards.

Ingredients;

1 tub with a lid

5 tablespoons of soft brown sugar

olive oil or sweet almond oil

10 drops of grapefruit essential oil (not compulsory)

1 teaspoon

receipe;

place your soft brown sugar in a tub

Cover with the chosen oil

add grapefruit  EO if using it.

mix all together

Method;

put mixture on face, massaging in circular movements. Paying attention to problem areas. Massage for a good 2 minutes.

rinse off using warm water and finish with a cold water splash.

now feel your skin, feels soft!

Thanks for sharing your recipe, Joanna.  This would also be a good scrub for your scalp.  Brown sugar can be a great exfoliator.

yes i suppose it would, i will give it a try and report the results back. Covent Garden does a brown sugar facial scrub which is so expensive but this does exactly the same and cost pennies! if you try let me know how you find it. I tried it on my 14 year old daughter and used tea tree EO as she has some acne, 3 days later her spots have gone, so mess about with different oils, tangerine for example is excellent too especially if you have oily skin.

I too use the olive oil and dark brown sugar as a scrub fo my face. I also use a oil cleansing mix to wash my face, and a apple, cucumber, milk and oatmeal mask, and then I use nutmeg and milk on my acne spots. I will never get out of the kitchen with all the stuff I make!!
