Title: Vasaline, TCB Hair&Scalp Conditioner, Alberto VO5.
Post by Blondie35 on Mar 9th, 2008 at 12:18pm
Hi all,

I have a good deeo conditioning recipe that works really well for me.  What I do is I take a tablespoon of vasaline and a tablespoon of TCB Hair&Scalp Conditioner.....I put it in a glass bowl.  Heat it up in the microwave for 4 or 5 minutes.  Then I go in my bathroom, and part my hair in small sections, I take the spoon and some of the melted vasline and TCB Hair&Scalp Conditioner, and poor it onto my scalp and hair, rub it with my fingers. I do this process repeatedly until my whole head is saturated in oil.  Then after the oil has cooled off.  Then I get in the shower and shampoo half or all of the oils out of my hair with the Alberto VO5 shampoo for fullness&Body.  The amount of cyclings of shampoo I go through is 3, 4, or 5 cyclings, and for conditioning I condition follow by using Alberto VO5 conditioner for also fullness&Body.  Then after the conditioning I either blow-dry or let my hair air-dry, and that's it.  Your hair will come out feeling and looking very healthy, shiny, and soft.

Best Regards,
Blondie35

I'm glad you've found a treatment that you really like.  I like Ouidad's Deep Treatment, that works really well on my curly hair.

Thanks for sharing your recipe.

You're welcome.  I will have to check out Quidad's Deep Treatment.  Where do you get it from?  I have naturally curly hair too but I relax or straighten it, and I try different kinds of deep conditioning treatments and moisturizers that will keep my hair from drying out, and yes this does really help me out tremendously.  I only have to do it twice a month or however often I feel like it.  If it's once a week then fine.  Or, once a month.  You see, what I used to do when I was letting my hair grow out during high school....one week I would do the "Vasaline And TCB Hair&Scalp Hot Oil Treatment, and the next week or following week I would do a deep conditioning treatment using Queen Helen Colesterol Conditioning Cream, and sit under  a hooded dryer for 20 minutes.  Then, I will rinse the conditioner out with the coolest water that I can stand.  Then, do my regular styling as usual.

I just had to share my recipe with you all.

You'll find Ouidad products at www.ouidad.com.  I'm currently using it weekly and I do use a hood dryer on low for 20-30 minutes then rinse it out.  I do not relax or straighten my hair, I don't know how that might change or increase the need for moisture treatments.

Curious - typically Vaseline is nearly impossible to get out of hair.  I remember when the kids were just starting to spike their hair, they would use Vaseline, and then not be able to wash it out for weeks.  It would leave the hair gooey and it would attract dirt like crazy.

I wonder why it seems to work for you as a conditioner?

bikerbraid - Yeah, that's the same thing I was thinking when aunt as a hairdresser told me about it but she referred me to it when she saw my dry lifeless brittle and breaking hairs.  She told me if I really want to grow longer hair, and savage it from damage I would either have to cut it or do the Vasaline hot oil treatment.  It's not really that hard for me to get it out of my hair.  You see, in order for me to get it out my shampooing cycles are 3-5 cyclings, and then I still condition but with a mild conditioner or a light one.  And after I dry I end up with beautifuil very shiny health looking hair.

Curlgirl64 - You're welcome!  Oh yes, Vasaline does really work your hair wonders....well, maybe for some people!!!!!  ;D

Sakina - Oh, ok.  I will check them out on the web.  Well, with my soft grain of hair I don't really require that much moisturizeing treatments.  I alternate my treatments like one week I'll do a hot oil treatment.  Then the week after that I will do the cholestrol deep conditioning under a hooded dryer for 20 minutes.  I don't need the maximum 30 minutes.  Because, my hair is never hardly damaged, and I also color it too.  I also blow-dry too.  Now, there are times when I airdry but I do have to blowdry or my hair with fuzz and frizz up and look parched.  At least the blow-drying straightens it out for me too.  But even though I put me hair through all of this stress I condition, condition, and condition, and moisturize, moisturize, and moisturize.
