Hi there,

Been a long time lurker, but I recently have finally been able to purchase some hairsticks, so I figured i'd join the forum as well :)

I originally found the site though the livejournal long hair community. I've had longish hair for several years now, but i'm now struggling with the urge to chop because I think my health problems are affecting my hair - dead looking, suddenly started growing in silver in one baseball sized patch on the side of my head, and now definite thinning on my scalp :'(

I feel that if i cut some off, my hair won't be as weighted down, thus my scalp won't show through as much.
Whatever I decide to do though, it'll still be long enough for hairsticks, so no worries there ;)

Decisions decisions, gah!

Anyway, I hope to be able to become an active member of this community, so hi to all :)

Hi and welcome!

I'm sorry you're struggling at the moment. We have a member, Trisha, who (if I remember correctly) had some similar issues and she cut her hair as a resolution. I hope she'll drop in and share her story w/ you.

I just got my first pair of hairstix too. :) But I am far from an addict. One pair is enough for me.

Sorry to hear about your current hair woes. A few inches off of the bottom might indeed take some of the weight off. Have you tried scalp massages?

Anyway, it's nice to have you along with us.
