Hello everyone!

I hail from the east coast of the USA, I've lurked around this site for quite awhile now and finally decided to join. Umm... my hair's been past my shoulders for most of my life, there were a few times when it was shoulder length, and the crazy time my mother cut it to chin length when I was ten after getting sick and tired of all the knots. My hair's 26", honey blonde, coarse, thick, and straight. I've always liked long hair but I think my first inklings about wanting very long hair came from watching LotR too many times and from having a friend with waist length thick straight brunette hair, it just looked so amazing I wanted it! So I started growing it long, then got mad at it for some reason, and cut it back to just past my shoulders, I've been growing it back out since then, and glad to say it's back to where it was before I made that stupid choice.  :) My goal is to get it to my waist but lately I've been thinking hip, don't know why but will see how it goes, hopefully my terminal length will be that long, my great grandmother had very long hair so hope it passed on.  :) So I suppose that's it.

Your hair sounds quite nice. Do you do anything special to care for it or is your routine fairly basic?

Like you, I'm also a natural straightie, somewhere around 26" with an ultimate goal of waist length. And I also love the LOTR trilogy...do you own the DVD's? Probably a stupid question.  ;D

My "hair sounds nice"--sometimes it's nice, and other times I swear I want to strangle it...  >:( but I digress, yeah when it cooperates I love it. Umm.. I wash it once a week now, it looks so much better after I do wash it, I use grape seed oil, or jojoba oil on my ends when they look dry, a spray on leave in conditioner before I comb it, a boar bristle brush sparingly, and my secret weapon  :-X I could tell you but then it wouldn't be a secret any more  ;) nah just kidding, it's the Avocado Butter from Burts Bee's it's an amazing intensive conditioner, and I use it on my dry hair and it adds amazing shine!

Oh and yes I do own the DVD's the extended edition boxed set, because there's no other way to watch them of course  :D.

BTW, I am a LOTR fan but I only have the 2 dics sets of each one ::)

;D  I've had to buy at least 2 different incarnations of them because my former roommates destroyed my old ones. So I guess I have whatever version was released last.

And I know what you mean about wanting to strangle your hair on occasion.  ;)  Everybody has those days.
