You might be interested in Mixed Chicks deep conditioner.  I've been using the shampoo, deep conditioner and leave in conditioner with pretty good results. HTW!

Thanks CG! I love my DevaCare no poo and one condition, but I really want to try a deep conditioner. I'll have to see if I can get my hands on some mixed chicks products!

I've tried it, its called Heaven In Hair.  I think its OK.  I used it in Michigan 'cause its a small container and doesn't require heat.

My preference is Ouidad's Deep Treatment.  I buy it in the 32oz. size.  I know its quite expensive, but it delivers the result I want.  The last time I used it I went outside instead of under the dryer and left it in for over an hour as opposed to the 20-30 min. under the bonnet dryer.

Curlgirl64, I've been thinking of giving Mixed Chicks a try as an alternate.  I seem to think there are cones in their products.  Is this correct?

Yeah, I went to Ouidad's website when they were having thier free shipping and saw that a 4 oz. bottle of the deep treat was $30.00!!!!! :o
I got a brochure from them that contained a little spray bottle of sun shield. I thought that was pretty cool, but now I wish I could have gotten a free small bottle of the deep treat instead!  ;D
How long does a bottle last you Sakina? HOw often do you deep treat CG and Sakina?

Yeah.  Big $$.  I bet you can get a free sample of deep treat in the fall/winter.

The 32oz lasts me several months.  It depends on how diligent I am w/my treatments.  In my mind, I want to do them weekly.  In actuality, every 2-3 weeks.  I have thick hair so I use a lot of it to get all strands coated.  I found CG difficult to work with-the consistency is strange to me.

I'll have to keep watching for a free sample!
I might have to fork over the money for a small bottle. If the large bottle lasts you several months, then it would last me forever!

Keep in mind, Sakina, that Mixed Chicks uses a TON of parabens in their products.
Just a heads up :) One of my older posts has all the ingredients (mens and womens lines have same ingredients)

Thanks, Yaku.  I'm not going to be trying the Mixed Chicks line.

Normally I just work a lot of oil into my hair, braid it, and wash it out the next day.  I don't have time during the day for a conditioner deep treatment, and whenever I've tried to do them at night the smell and the heat from the shower cap I use has kept me awake.  If I can figure out ways to get around these problems it would be a lot easier for me to do deep treatments.

I stopped using Mixed Chicks products after my hair started to feel like *)(&*(&^^&(
My sister also said what are you using in your hair,it doesn't look the same!  Go back to what you were using before.  I did and am happy to say my hair feels like it did before and has that natural curly look again!

Hi Yaku,
I shampoo with one of Ida's shampoo bars(chagrin valley),currently the Nettle shampoo bar,I condition with any good conditioner I have on hand.  I usually condition first, leave that in,shampoo, rinse everything out,do an apple cider vinegar rinse(either once a week or when I feel my hair and scalp need it) rinse it out, and then condition again.  Rinse it all out with cool water and then a cold rinse.
I then wide tooth comb my hair, let it air dry alittle bit,put jojoba oil on the length and ends, run my hands through it all, scalp to ends.  Usually about 3 to 4 drops.  The finale is aloe vera gel through the length and ends and alittle from scalp to ends!
Whew!  Sound like a lot,but it goes quickly when you have a pattern down! ;)
