I've been massaging lavender oil into my scalp for a few weeks now.. about 2-3 times a week. I can't say I've had extreme hair growth or anything, but when it comes to hair growth... at least an effort can't hurt ;) Does anyone else do this? Or maybe understand why this works? :-?

I don't know about the lavender, but massaging the scalp help increase blood flow which helps with hair growth.

I have heard massaging lavender oil promotes hair growth, but I personally found having a protein-rich diet is the best contributor to improved hair growth.
