Title: Drops of honey in a bottle of conditioner?
Post by haircarehints on Sep 17th, 2008 at 7:21am
Found some interesting info that adding a couple of drops of honey to a bottle of conditioner is great for adding a natural shine to shair. Was wondering if anyone knew about this or could confirm it before I go applying honey to my hair.  :) Thanks

Yes I've done this before.. it sort of coats your hair & looks great. Honey is a humectant so it helps your hair retain moisture.

In the past, I've added honey to my conditioner with fine results.  --Not sure why I stopped...   :-?

How many drops are you supposed to add?

I just tried this with my conditioner yesterday! I put two-ish drops of honey into the palm of my hand with the regular amount of conditioner that i usually use, and i got such soft shiny hair! Whoever hasn't tried this yet should! :)

Yay! Perfect! I was wondering whether you were supposed to put it in the bottle, and then the many problems that could arise from that...
Thank you Jilayne!!

I've heard about this but was always skeptical because honey is so sticky.  Since you all are having such good results with it, I'm now convinced to give it a try.  I hope it works for me, I could use any shine I can get! :D

Does it not attract bugs?

The mosquitos and yellow jackets around here have been far too fond of me as of late, I'm not sure I want to put anything on my hair that might encourage them?! :P

Yeah I suppose it could attract insects, though the chances of that would be very small unless you use alot of honey.

When I did this, I didn't attract any bugs. And I don't think my sister did either.

For me it didn't seem to really improve the shine, but it did make it softer. It kind of made my hair feel heavier, however, so I decided against using again.
