My mom recently had a non-formaldehyde keratin hair straightening done & it's amazing. At her age, she really appreciates being able to wash and go. I was considering having it done too. It is also referred to as the Brazillian Hair Straightener. Here's an article I found:

Well, I read the article.  I would not straighten my hair.  I think caring for my hair is easy, I wash 2 times a week and do lots of different styles.  I like having curly hair.

I'm glad your mother is happy with her results.  I know of only one other person who has had this done and although she were happy with it initially, her hair did show damage after time and she eventually had to cut the processed hair off.

Hmmm... I dont think i would myself, but it's your hair. Personally, I think its better to embrace the natural texture and type of your hair than to try and fight against it. I think all types of hair are beautiful, but the one that is natural to you would probably be the best. I mean, you've come this far, and if something goes wrong and this keratin treatment somehow isnt all its cracked up to be, you probably wouldnt be very happy. I would just consider that before you decide.

 Are you unhappy with the natural texture of your hair? Do you want the keratin treatment to make it healthier? Or would you just like this treatment because it's easier?

That's exactly my biggest issue. My other issue is what happens afterwards.... I really would love to talk to someone with curly hair who has had the treatment.. I want to know if they regained their full curl afterwards.

While I do enjoy my curls, I would love to be able to just wash & go & have perfectly straight hair. I occasionally blow my hair out anyways.

Well if you are concerned with how the keratin treatment will turn out, but want  your hair to be straight and be able to just wash and go, I would do some more research the treatment and maybe ask your stylist what she thinks. But when it all boils down, its your hair so you can decide what you want to do with it.  :)

I can't even imagine what it would be like to wash & go & have beautiful, straight locks. I think that's what makes this so alluring.
