Title: Hey Everyone!
Post by cera on Feb 14th, 2009 at 3:03pm
Hi, I'm cera, stay at home momma of 3 little ones!

I found this site nearly 2 months ago when my husband told me he did NOT want me cutting my bsl hair into a pixy lol:)  Wise man.  Now that I've been reading through all your wonderful posts and seeing the pictures of all your 'long locks' - I am soooo glad I didn't get it cut!  I have since decided to make tbl my new goal, that is if tbl=tail bone length??

My only grievance is my layers grr... >:(  Last time I went to a sallon I asked for a dusting with a bit of texturing at the ends which apparently translates as, "take off at LEAST 3", layer 10" up and dont bother making it even", ...yeah.  Needless to mention, I have become quite good at trimming my own hair ;D!

I really want to let it all grow untill my shortest layers reach waist before cutting it all the same length but my layers seem to become razzled and damaged very quickly (I have wavyish/curlyish hair).  Any advice you curly girls can offer would be wonderful!

Thank you all for your wonderful inspiration!  And happy growing:)

-cera

Greetings and welcome, Cera. :)

Definitely invest in a pair of new hair scissors. If you're using old scissors from around the house, that could explain the frazzled ends. Layers are tough to grow out, as anyone here will tell you. But with regular trims, they will even up eventually. Bear in mind that it's going to be a frustrating process.

Anyway, feel free to poke around for hair tips here - they're everywhere. ;)

Hi midnight!  Thanks for the advice:)  I actually did invest in a rather expensive pair of hair 'shears' recently.  I believe the top layers are damaged due to brushing, using a cheap pillow case and/or sun damage.  I just (finally) received my seamless comb by 'creative' which I LOVE!  I also purchased a silk pillow case and am trying my hardest to really take care of my hair.  I dont want to lose any more precious inches!  We shall see if these measures help:)

Aww, that's great! Sounds like you're definitely on the right track. ;)

Which Creative comb did you get? I own 2 of their wide toothed rake combs and love them. :)

Which ones do you have?  I purchased the 3W (with a handle) and I LOVE it!  Feels great on my itchy scalp :)  Now Im thinking of buying a bone comb off of e-bay...
