Title: Keeping in ribbons?
Post by Elfdaughter on Feb 24th, 2009 at 10:31am
Does anyone else have this problem?  I love to tie my hair up in a ponytail using a pretty ribbon instead of a scrunchie, but after about 15 mins the ribbon starts falling out because my hair is so fine.  Anyone got any tips for making the ruddy thing stay in???

I have a number of shiny, ribbon-like scrunchies, in black, brown, gray, green.  I got them at icing.  Occaisionally I'll tie a ribbon to it to make a bow, or to braid a ribbon through my hair.  Not often, though.  I'm not a ribbon/bow sort of person.

That's a good idea.  I might try attaching a ribbon to small scrunchie, see if that helps.  Yeah, I have to be in the right mood to wear a ribbon. :D

The only way I could keep a ribbon in my hair is to attach the ribbon to something else that will stay in my hair.  I've tied or looped ribbons thru scruncies, covered elastics, barrettes and headbands.  I don't wear ribbons very often any more, but during my shoulder length and above days, I did like to tie a ribbon around my ponytail.

You'll have to use a regular hairtie and then tie the ribbon onto or over it.

Thanks, gals!  I've found a small fabric-covered scrunchie the same colour of the ribbon that I can tie the ribbon onto, and once the ribbon's wrapped around it's hidden.  I like the idea of using a barrette - I'll have to look into getting one.  With thinner ribbon, I might be able to use a bobby pin - I think it's just trial and error.
