Title: That time of the month....
Post by Isabeau on Mar 2nd, 2009 at 10:46am
Warning!  This post is a bit graphic.....sorry.

Hi Ladies,

latley my periods have been very short (only three days) this had been this way for a few months.  This month however, has been quite heavy and alot longer.  I am worried  and a bit scared.   :'(  Don thnks I could be having a miscarragie as there lots of blood clots in the flow.  I am not in any pain just scared.  I think it could be that since my peroids were light that now it all coming out.  It not flooding or anything...what should I do. :'(

Thank you all so much

Lisa

I tend to agree with your "diagnosis".  As long as you are not in pain, aside from the regular TOM kind of pain, and if the rest of the period progresses normally, then I wouldn't worry too much.  However if you continue to see clots and/or the period seems to go on for a long time (like 2 weeks, let's say), then no harm in seeing a doctor.

Standard disclaimer...this is only my opinion; I am not a medical professional.   8-)

I agree with Trisha.  No harm in seeing the doctor.  He or she will put your mind at rest and let you know what's going on.    It can't hurt to make an appt. and go.  Hope all turns out ok! :)

Trisha is right on the mark. Kudos, girl.

Don has never had a miscarriage and most men don't understand "that time of the month" any better than women understand their need to congratulate themselves on explosive bodily functions. ::) Don't let him psych you out.

Your periods may also be becoming irregular as you get closer to menopause. They tend to get pretty spastic before they stop completely. As Trisha said, if these symptoms persist, you may want to visit an OBGYN.

Very true!  Don has never had a miscarriage but his late wife did a few times.  I know I am going through pre menopause :(  Sucks but nothing I can do.  I am seeing my shrink next week and will tell him as my GP is a quack.  The shrink can send me to a Gyno.

I laughed my butt off when I read that!!!! ;D

***update****

My peroid has eased up a great deal. Phew!  Still, I am going to see a Gyno just to make sure.
