Title: Sun-in or dying hair
Post by Kelpsey on May 9th, 2009 at 2:09pm
Hi I was wondering if I should ether dye my hair or use sun-in. Before I had decide to grow my hair out I had been using sun-in and it lightened my hair and didn't seem to mess it up. But it did give me a bit of an orange-y tinge but my hair seemed to always have that but now that I've stopped using it and my hair has grown, my roots are showing. So I was wondering what I should do. Continue using sun-in or dye my hair. Thanks so much for the help  ;D

Sun-in will dry out the hair it is sprayed on, and that will lead to damage.

If you really want to grow out your hair, I suggest you go to a salon and have a color done that will blend what you currently have going on with your natural color and then grow it out from there.

Ditto. Anytime you lighten your hair, you're actually damaging it, even if you can't tell. You won't find very many peroxide slaves with long hair.

The wiser choice would be to dye the bleached part to match your roots and grow from there, as Sakina suggested. If you're aiming for long hair, it's far better to accept your natural colour/texture.

Sun-in is extremely damaging to the hair.  I would not recommend using it.  It is very drying and harsh.  If you must color, try to stay close to your natural color and be sure to condition your hair.
