What is your hair growth goal via inches?

As far as I'm concerned, I've just reached 7 inches and my goal is 12 inches.  I'm a 3a/b texture and I condition my hair often.

Welcome!  It sounds like you are well on your way to reaching your goal.  Do you know what your growth rate is?  My hair grows at about 1/2" per month, but sometimes more during the warmer summer months.

Yes Smiley  My growth rate appears to be 1 inch per month.  However, this is a first for me because my hair did not seem to grow at all for years...however, I've learned from other message boards proper hair care to prevent breakage, and strengthen the hair.  Also, since the beginning of this month,  I have a real hair regimine now along with a change in my diet....I include more protein, and take hair supplements.  It is unbelieveable!  Now if I can continue this growth it would be great.  I've heard that the growth rate is much faster in the summer months, so we will see.

Wow, 1" per month is great!  I could only wish for such growth.  It sounds like you have learned a lot about taking care of your hair and yourself so that you can get such growth.  I'm sure others here would love to hear what supplements you are taking and which hair products work best for you. (Not having African American hair myself, I don't know much about the unique characteristics or issues).

Yes.  Assuming from your message you have caucasian grade hair.  My hair is a 3a/b texture.  I'm part American Indian, however my hair is more like hair of the blacks.  I don't know if I will get another inch out of next month, however I will continue my hair regimine. Grin

I average about 1/2" per month,  a little less in the winter, a little more in the summer.  I think I get pretty close to 6" per year.  I have recently added Biotin and Silica to my routine and although I have not seen an increase in the monthly growth rate, my fallout rate has decreased significantly.

ShockedWOW!
I think 1/2 inch is Grrrrrrrrrrreat!
Of course that would be acceptable for me.
I take vitamins which contain MSM and Horsetail Silica.  I believe they have accelerated my hair growth as well.  As far as hair fall-out, if you experience this again, check out the Ayurvedic hair products.  You can purchase these at an (East Indian) market.  Amla oil is good for pre-conditioning before shampooing.  Natural products work best because they do not contain alcohol and other drying agents.

My hair growth rate is a little less than an inch per month.

Where do you live, High_Priestess? I wonder if I can get Ayurvedic products here, since my mother has a lot of fall-out.

High_Priestess;
I use jojoba oil on the ends for conditioning.  My fallout is primarily a hormonal/age thing.  The MSM, biotin and silica really helped reduce the fallout, but unfortunately I have lost almost half of my thickness. (Glad I had really thick hair to begin with!)  Some of it looks like it is coming back (I have lots of short, new growth) so I am just being very careful with what I have.  I have not heard of Ayurvedic products, where are they produced/manufactured?

Sorry for the delay, I've been so busy with business.
Yes.  Ayurvedic products are (East) Indian.
I reside in California.  If you have problems locating where to purchase these products, just go to a search engine and type in the key words.
Where do you live?

Actually, I've just found out that these products are readily available here (in Bangladesh). Do these products help anything else other than fall-out?

I'm in Minnesota.  What type of stores do you find it at?

Hi Bikerbraid
You can usually find these products in Indian stores.  The names are usually a give-away.  For example, the name of one store might be "India Spiceland" or India (something).  Also, if you can find out where the Indian communities in your state are located, usually you can find the neighboring stores.
Good luck with that.  I'm here if you need me.
