Right now my two favorite styles for hairsticks with my waist length hair are:

A high ponytail, tied in a knot with one or two hair sticks through the knot to hold it.

Make a bun starting as usual, twisting the hair until it twists on itself and makes 1 round of the bun, then fold that loop over, continue to make another round with the remaining length of hair.  Put one or two hairsticks through both sets of loops to hold in place.  This makes a figure 8 of sorts.  Sometimes I make the 8 in a vertical position, other times I make it more horizontal.

Undecided Sounds confusing! I will have to experiment and also try and make up my own styles. I find this very difficult though!  Embarrassed The styles I usually do every day are pretty much simple ones; the topknot, a bun, a french twist, a pony tail, or half pulled back and put in a little clip.

Leia,

I also have not had the joy of owning a beautiful LongLocks Hairstick yet.  Cry

I have been using some I made from Sculpey clay, bamboo skewers and decorative rocks like amethest, quartz, and hematite.  This takes a little bit of time, so if I want a new stick, quick, I just paint a wooden chopstick (the one's you get for free when ordering Chinese take out) with nail polish.  This helps the wood from splintering, in addition to dressing it up.  I have also added some fine holographic glitter and covered it with clear polish to add some sparkle.

These certainly do not come close to the beautiful designs Rapunzel creates, but it works in a pinch.  I look forward to purchasing my first pair very soon!!!

WOW, Kasiss you are so creative! I have been able to buy a couple of hairsticks from some shops, though they aren't as beautiful as the ones on this site of course. I'll have to try your method and start painting chopsticks!!

I've looked at all the hairsticks for sale, and I was thinking, there's only one pair/stick I'm allowed to buy. I just don't know which one to choose!!! Maybe if I can get my mother into liking them, she'll buy some more  Tongue
