Organic products

Hi everyone.  I am a newbie here.  I LOVE all of the hair member hair pictures!!  I've considered growing my hair (that changes every other day  Tongue) every time I see someone with long hair...I have superfine (hence the name), super soft + super straight brown hair..right now it's in a softly-layered bob about chin length.  I have to use a curling iron to curl the ends under otherwise they go every-which-way.  This only lasts an hour or two, however!!

Anyway, to get on topic....for the past couple of years I've tried to switch to more eco-friendly, organic products for skin and hair care.  I just recently started using Aubrey Organics Blue Camomile shampoo which I teamed up with Avalon Organics rosemary conditioner.  My hair seems to have really responded to this combination...I have less hair in the drain and my hair absoultely LOVES the rosemary...I even add a few more drops of rosemary oil to the conditioner and get even more benefit from it!  I had been coloring it for several years...it's a medium brown...I think (!)...the last color I used was Natural Instincts Nutmeg which only lasts for 12-24 washes.  I was considering re-coloring it again recently because it seemed to be going lighter with alot of reddish/golden tones...I really want to deepen the brown (something like a deep dark chocolate) and take away some of the red....but I noticed since I've started using the combination above...the color of my hair has really been enhanced...it's a deeper, richer brown with less "brassy" undertones, it's super soft, feels thicker (doesn't LOOK much thicker, unfortunately), seems to stay cleaner longer (I wash everyday otherwise it goes stringy and limp) and just generally feels healthier!  Cheesy

I had a question about the hair rinses...I've tried sage and rosemary and found it really dried out and tangled my hair....if I combine it with a few drops of essential oil and maybe some ACV would that help?  I was hoping to darken it even more if possible.  Any suggestions?   ???

I also wanted to ask Rapunzel if that is her natural hair color.....WOW!!  Fantastic.

You might want to try using coffee to rinse your hair.  You'll find the directions for using coffee, and maybe some others that will help you out, in the LongLocks Hair Care Recipes Cookbook (URL below):

http://www.longlocks.com/hair-care-recipes-cookbook.htm

My hair is naturally dark auburn.  I vary between leaving it natural, putting a red rinse in it, or a dark brown rinse.  I *never* use peroxide on my hair (well, except for the narrow, slightly lighter streak you can see in some pics), as a rule.  I'm still waiting patiently for my much coveted head of gray hair, LOL!

Thanks for the suggestion...I have read about coffee before but was concerned (again) about it leaving my hair really dry and tangled.  Can I use a conditioner afterwards?

About your beautiful hair.....you're probably the FIRST person I've heard say they WANT to go grey!!   Shocked

With your amazing hair color I don't know why you'd want to.....really, I'm in color envy.  It's ironic talking about aging, last night I had a panic attack realizing that next month is my 35th birthday....and that in 5 years I'll be 40!!  Aaaaaaaaayyyyy!!

I guess for alot of women this is not such a big deal but I'm still unmarried (engaged....permanently!), have no kids, and no house.  Depressing really.  Luckily I don't LOOK 35 or mentally think of myself as 35, but my body certainly FEELS 35!!  Anyhow, I'm getting on a rant here.

Thanks again for the advice...look the website and your hair stixs are absolutely stunning.  Kudos!!

All is not lost, I turned 43 yesterday!  And I didn't find my soul mate until I was 38... so you never know.  I am *so* glad I didn't marry any of the earlier contenders!  It pays to be picky, I got the BEST one! ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
I would have to disagree on finding the best one however, because I have the BEST one.  We will be celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary on May 25th. I'm sure the two of you will be happy for many, many years to come as well.  Congratulations.

Well then, Happy Belated Birthday, Rapunzel!!  You look fantastic....what's your secret?  And to Bikerbraid, a Happy Anniversary!!   As for lifemates...my fiance and I have been together 8 years...we were good friends before we got together and still are....I'm just starting to feel like we're never going to "move on" and get married cuz he's too comfortable where we are.  Also, he's 5 years younger than me and always complains about "being pressured" when I talk about marriage, kids and the future.   Sometimes I wonder if I should have picked an older guy who's eager to start a family, etc.   Roll Eyes  Sigh.  I guess the baby-clock is ticking quite loudly now....yikes.

Hmmmm, if you are engaged - isn't that a promise to marry?  Sounds like he may not be interested in marriage.  You may want to find out soon!  I wish you much luck and happiness.

Bikerbraid,,,,yea, that's the idea of being engaged.  We've booked the chapel and the reception once already but then cancelled because of financial reasons.

It just seems that every year it's....just wait another year and things will be better....meanwhile 8 years have gone by....at this point I think the only way I'll end up at the alter is if I'm 4 months pregnant!!  Roll Eyes

How frustrating for you.  Maybe it is time to plan a simple ceremony that won't affect you financially.  If he can't commit to that, then you have to wonder if he can commit at all.  Good luck!
