Surprise!  It's December already!  Along with your measurement for this month, why not include how you might wear your hair for those holiday events you might be attending!

I have only one party we usually attend and plan to wear my hair half up with a braided bun and a cute holiday hairstick.  The loose hair will be in soft waves (for as long as they last).

I didn´t measure yet and I have no idea how I could wear my hair for the holidays. Maybe my beloved bun? Sounds boring

Hi everyone. My hair has grown one inch, so its presently 12.5 inches. But I need a trim. It seems like whenever I have growth I need a trim. Any advice people.
I heard this silly thing about getting your hair cut on a new moon promotes growth. Has anyone ever heard about this, if so please tell me your thoughts. Well on the 23rd of this month, I'm going to try it

Hi Princesa-Pia, it's not "silly" at all. It works perfectly for me. But I don't think hair can grow much more than 1" per month. There is also another lunar chart that people use to get their hair to grow faster (found at http://www.morroccomethod.com/lunar.html) which I haven't tried yet. The day for length for this month is December 19th so I will be trimming then to see if this works for me.

Are you trimming just the split ends, or the whole length of your hair?  I would recommend that you "dust" your hair.  This method will trim only the splits off and leave your length.  Be sure to use a very sharp scissors so that you don't damage the hair even more.

I have found that putting my hair into two twisted ropes or 2 braids makes it very easy to find the split ends and trim them off.

Dusting is the trimming of just the split ends.  It is probably called that because when you are done, there is just a "dusting" of hair on the floor (table, chair, clothes, whatever).

How I dust, is to put my hair in twin braids or twin twisted ropes.  The little ends that stick out I look at very carefully under a strong light.  If the end appears to be split or have a little white "bump" on it, I use my sharp scizzors (actually and embroidery scizzors) to clip the hair just above the split.  I have not had my hair trimmed since April, although I am thinking I might do a 1/2" trim after the holidays. 

Trimming the hair would only remove the split ends that are on the ends of your longest hairs, it does nothing for shorter hairs.  That is why the dusting method is actually better for handling split ends. 

You might also try to determine what might be causing the split ends.  Is your hair coated with silicone type products that are robbing your hair of moisture?  Do you wash too often?  Do you comb/brush your hair when it is wet and vulnerable?  Is your comb too rough on your hair?  Any of these might be causing the split ends.
