Hair Cinch

Has anyone tried the Hair Cinch?

http://www.haircinch.com/index.html

It looks nice and looks like it would be easy to French Braid using one (something which I can't do) plus other styles. I was wondering if they are as easy to use as they say and look as nice as they do in the picture. I would like to order one but I hate to spend $25.00 and find out that the thing is of no use to me.

Would like to find out if anyone has bought one and what they think of it.

THANKS for any help on this.

I don't have one of theirs, but I bought one based on the same design a year ago.  I never did really get the hang of putting it on.  However, now that I've seen their video, I might give it another try.........now where in the world I have put it?

I recently saw a mom with her two daughters wearing these (or something like them) in their hair. They looked really nice, though of course those things always look neater when someone else does it for you. They don't look like they'd be that hard to use, though. Now I wish I'd asked that woman where they got them...

Here's the one I bought on ebay
leather hair tie
Here's another version with nicer beads
leather hair wrap
Both of these are less expensive than from the Hair Cinch.  (Looks like some pictures are the same, could be the same vendor, or just someone who ripped the pics0.

Thanks! I hadn't thought about it tangling in my hair but it probably would because my hair tends to twist at the ends so it would require care and time to use it. I'll have to give it some thought before spending as much as $25.00. I might give the Ebay one a try (like the second site better) see if that works without having to spend so much. Bikerbraid thanks for that link!  Smiley

I ended up ordering from each of these and the first one that BB listed was way nicer than the other one even though from pictures you would think it would be the other way around. If anyone is interested in getting one of these I would recommend the first one, the leather is much nice and so are the beads, the seller was nicer and last but not least the price was half. Wink

I am still working on getting the hang of using a hair wrap but think once I get my own technique this is going to be a very good thing. Grin

I've seen these at a renaissance faire, and they were way expensive!  The wrap style looks cool, but I really don't see how you could use it to French braid. ???  Let us know once you've figured it out! Wink

i don't think you can actually, it just replaces it. just wrapping the thing around a strand of hair gives the illusion of a braid.

You are right, it just gives the illusion of a French braid. It is not actually a braid but the hair is pulled off the face in sections (like a French braid) and fastened one section at a time. I haven't been able to achieve an actual French braid yet so for me this isn't a bad way to fake it. Wink Grin
